If your u joint goes bad it will not save your extension housing. If you have harmonic vibration going on in the transfer case; it will not save you.
What it will do is keep broken parts from falling to the ground when you shatter your transfer case. We saw this happen on Casper back in '08 while Pat was making a pass.

I figured he cracked it due to other "circumstances", not a bent driveshaft or broken Ujoint. My apologies.

Pat told me the TC was was unlocking at times when he was making passes. I told him to let me have the truck and I'd fix it. He said no; " when it breaks we will find out what it was " Well it broke, bad. I don't think any pieces fell to the ground as they were suspended by the brace. That was a good thing at over 100 mph.
I now recommend the brace to anyone that drag races or pulls.

It was a ujoint on my first one. Outta balance shaft on 2nd one. No visible signs of it being hit or missing weights but it was warped quite a bit. Had a new shaft made w/ new joints & slip yoke. Smooth as glass again up to buried speedometer speed. :D
