Rear axle choice for 1/2 ton

New yoke on the way. Hopefully will have the axle set up in a few weeks.

Well, that took a little longer than I wanted it to, but the axle is finally set up. My mechanic told me the gears and diff set up beautifully, something about .005" backlash and that the pattern was spot on. I just told him I just hope it doesnt blow up. :hehe:

Anyway, I have to install the axle shafts, but I have a question first. On the 9.5" Detroit Locker, what is the torque for the center pin lock bolt? I could not find it anywhere, and my installer did not know that value.

So, thats one more thing off my checklist. Slowly but surely.....

OK, finally found the value. 23-25ft/lbs and use thread locker.

I'd like to get it done by TS in May. I think I have most everything I need except the shocks/springs. Guess we'll see if I will actually dedicate time to it now. :hehe:

Also, I have $1200 into this rear. Thats everything including brakes.
