I have never run one of Nicks tunes before, and I am sure he is a capable tuner but there are some tuners out there that can tune that LLY better. Many are on this site maybe you should hook up with one of them?? IMHO any tuner that just has a HUGE library of tunes is NOT tuning for a certain trucks needs. The fella on this site who tuned my LBZ took my factory tune and built a cutom tune based off of a proven 12 second LBZ tune he had built for personal use.

Not bashing Nick I just know there are better "custom tuners" out there.

Ok this is a misconseption about Nick. Yes he does offer a library of tunes buts just one service. It's great for getting a lot of mild tunes on the cheap so you can have a tune for every situation. But that's not all he does. My
current race and dd/tow tunes did not come from his library they were tuned by Nick for my own truck. I don't personially have any doubt in his tuning ability I went with him after seeing first hand a dew trucks he's tunes.
Yes there are excellent tuners here as well but I would certinally place Nick on an equal level as them

I tune my own trucks, and I taught myself. I did it at the dyno, and at the dragstrips. I've taken Dmaxes up past 900rwhp, and I set a more than a few "firsts" with LLY's. I suppose Nick does the same, yet keeps it top secret.

You could do the same, or you could do it like Nick did it, and cut out the middle man, and just have tunes "appear" out of thin air.

I watched Nick in action at Bakersfield trying to make a truck fast that wasn't running right. He was pretty much clueless. Since it was a showdown, I didn't help. Later on I found the problem for the guy.

There are several guys on this board that are better tuners than I am, and I've seen them help a lot of folk for free. They do it for the love of hotrodding, not to make a fast buck. Would I say Nick is their equal? Probably not.

I certinally don't want to turn this into a dick measuring contest. Pat I know you know what your doing buti went with Nick becuase he is one of the closer tuners to me and also that I've seen his work. A friend of mind with an lbz runs consistant 12.6 1/4's stock turbo and I have other friends that as satasfied with his work as well. At this time o
I'm confident in his abilities but only time well tell for sure and track tines don't lie

You've seen him tune a truck on the dyno?

How many?

I can tell you this, his first LMM tune wasn't written on a dyno or at the track. It wasn't until after I released a LMM tune that he fixed it.

I'm not trying to "sell" my tuning, pat myself on the back, or pimp my for my friends. I'm just telling you what I know.

You can make your truck faster than anyone else can by tuning it yourself if you are willing. Start with Nick's tune and do the legwork.

My truck weighed in at 6898 at the last track day, I know its an LB7 and very different from the LLY in question, but I made 460 rwhp on a Mustang 2000 dyno in November and went 12.72, the best 60' I could get with 285's was 1.71, your crew cab has to be more like 7000+lbs???

I have dealt with Nick alot, he has helped me numerous times and I have been very happy with stuff, my friend has an 07.5 LMM crew cab that Nick's tune went 12.95 on, Nick has plenty of fast trucks out there, but there are other guys who can make power too, maybe he doesn't have the fastest or best tunes but he has always been good to me and I would reccomend his services to anyone. His customer service is awesome, and that counts for more than just about anything to me.

I have run alot of different tunes, some from Nick, one from Idaho Rob, and some from Jeff Toman, as well as a friend of mine who plays with EFI a bit here, I think Nicks tunes drive and perform just as well as any.

I'm not trying to insight an internet argument, Pat has alot of experience and has some awesome trucks that have done unbelieve things, I just think Nick/Duramax Tuner does a great job and would suit just about anyone.

It's hard to make what I'm saying sound right, since I'm both a enthusiast and I tune trucks for others as well.

But I saw this thread starting to turn into an informmercial for a non-vendor instead of a tech thread and I'm trying to redirect it.

There are tons of ways to get the HP to run 12's with a stock charger LiLLY. I might have been the first? Don't remember that far back.

You have to show a little common sense when posting on the internet. You guys know there are vendors on this board who have put LiLLY's into the 12's, and you know how TunaWars are started, right?

So why go down that path in a tech thread? Just don't.

This I completely agree with. Though I'm fairly new to efi I'm striving to learn as much as possible.

I'm not trying to male any of this into an add for nick in any way I was just saying I'm confidnt in my tuning. I'm sorry if anyone took it that way

12's is getting easier, and yes there are a lot of great tuners in the world. I've personally ran Kennedy's, Nick's, Idaho Rob's, and Diesel Pilot's. They were all good and all of them were good to deal with. Hell I even have one of Pat's tunes floating around that he sent me. :)

If you need info about how TJ & I did it, what helped and what didn't, just PM me.

7440 with me in it.. I have made 30 passes trying to get in the 12's on fuel but I never made it.. 13.03 being the closest. It's very frustrating, but I had all stock suspension with 70k miles on it. I have nothing under the trick touched...
