I was just voicing my opinion, after all that is what this thread is all about right? I just prefer that my truck doesn't look like a batteling ram

RBP grilles are pretty nice but way too expensive, their additives are ok, i prefer stanadyne but to each his own. They make some decent products but for the money there are products out there just as good for less money spent.

What does it matter?

BTW I think those bumpers look like #### on your truck.

A) Family site, watch your language.

B) You are right, comments on TTS are out of place in this thread.

C) Likewise, comments about someone's bumper are out place as well.

I would run TTS parts if they were applicable to my needs, but they don't sell anything that would make my truck faster. I often tell folk both on and off the internet about TTS products, and recommend them occassionally, like their lift pumps and exhaust. Back when it was applicable, I recommended their converter, LB7 race tuning, and LLY tow tuning.

But you seem to be upset when someone throws a dart at a company they don't deal with. I'm not sure you felt the same way when it was TTS slamming every product they did not sell.

It just sounds odd sticking up the company that's perhaps the most famous for blind-sided slams, by saying blind-sided slams are terrible.

I don't know if it's just a CA/west coast thing or it just hasn't hit NC yet but we don't see any RBP products over here in NC. Then again you don't see near as many other "high status" stuff here. People would rather pay less for the Lexus with the Toyota badge, the Audi with the VW badge, the Acura with the Honda badge, the RBP tuner with the PPE badge, you won't find Prada and Gucci stores unless you really look, don't have many Benz, BMW, or exotic car dealers, ect.

I imagine you see more of it in and around big cities where everyone is trying to "keep up with the Jones's" and show off.

Not everyone is into performance as their major goal. Appearance products for cars and trucks far outsell performance products.

Are you telling me only folk in California put appearance products on their cars/trucks? I've been in about 1/2 the states in the US, and Bling is nationwide.

Wow what a bunch of crap. I have personally delt with RBP and they are verry good peeps. and yes some of there stuff is relabled. all of there grills and rims are designed by them built by some one else. but by two of the best manfactures for those products and there is a big market for there products. If you open any diesel mag there is probbaly at least one rbp product on the majority of the trucks in the mags. Pat i find it funny you would rip on them when you where running one of there exaust tips:rolleyes: Yes alot of there products are overpriced. but if you dont like the price dont buy it. Or you dont like the look thats your opnion as well. but to go out of the way to bash on a good company that you have never delt with is lame.

The RBP folks are pretty nice and there is a place for their stuff in this industry. If there wasn't, you would not see it on so many trucks. If you don't like it don't buy it; simple. You guys might be suprised at how much stuff is rebadged from companys you thought made their own products.

Thank you. I'm all for peoples opinions but do you have anything of theirs on your truck? If not then you shouldn't be talking. Sure some stuff looks like too much but other stuff is fine, and It's a little pricey but no one is making anyone buy it.

That would be like If i didn't have anything mbrp on my truck which I dont and seeing their new black stacks and being like that's so gay!! Chrome stacks are where its' at!!!! F**K mbrp! and $200 I could buy tube so $50 and paint it.

If you can make what they make for less then do it. That's why I make my own stuff. and if you don't like it dont buy it. If you bought stuff and dont like it then take it up with rbp.

my take:

RBP hit a gold mine, they sell there stuff at that price and people buy it like crazy. So what? If I could, I'd sell stuff like that too. A marketing plan that worked very well.

Who cares what anyone thinks, you can do what you want with your truck. If someone dont like it then oh well as long as you do its good to go.

RBP makes and designs nice things. Its wrong to bash a company because there over priced, maybe there not overpriced, there selling stuff left and right, maybe it really is you cant afford it and bashing them makes you feel better. Theres hundreds of their grills installed on trucks, these people dont think its over priced....

I'd run RBP stuff, how ever like pointed out its a fad, and I want to be different. I like my truck to stand out in a different way. I change stuff up on my truck all the time because I see other people with the same look. Yes some of there stuff is not my style but some is.

Yeah, that's me! :D

I spend all my time dressing up my vehicles instead of making them go faster. Do you really think I've ever deliberately ordered an exhaust tip for any kind of motorcycle, car, truck, or boat?

I had a custom LSR exhaust made, and the shop decided it needed a BLING tip on it.

I'm not against appearance mods, or lifted trucks, it's just that's not my focus.

But the "rip" as you called it had to do with Tim spending ~$14,000 on performance mods at RBP and getting very little performance out of it.

Lately you sound like what I hear when I drink alot of milk . :D

And it is starting to smell .

Why are you throwing out serious derogatory remarks towards the looks of others trucks . There is a difference between freedom of speech and being a complete Richard .

Give it a rest .

Maybe you need to go stand in the corner . :dunce:

My god, I can't believe people buy this retarded looking shit and ruin their trucks with it....Really am I crazy or is this crap ridiculous? I guess it proves the old saying 'a fool and his money are soon departed'.... should be called ATG IMO....American Trash Gear....

^^^^yeah that is funny nice tip...with a cheesy plate riveted to it...you got one on a chain too LMAO

Everyone is different, and different people have different tastes. I do agree with you that RBP has some ugly looking stuff and it's very expensive. I do like the tip, but I won't be buying anything else from them. Thanks for the comment though.

Typical Fad stuff...way over priced because you're 'cool' if you have it. This stuff looks gaudy and cheap, like two tone orange shag carpet and pea green appliances adding to the hilarity of it...someone is getting rich making others look ridiculous...and we wonder why the country is going to hell....

you should try their fuel additives, might as well piss in your tank.

I couldnt agree more TJ.

RBP is a joke, I think of it as like Gucci or Louis Vuitton (sp??) for diesels. Seriously, its a frikkin exhaust tip with a "designer" plate riveted on it? OMG SO TRENDY.

lame. Ill take my 500 dollar MBRP exhaust any day over that. I think they charge like 500 bucks just for that tip?

ben

RBP's stuff is gay:rofl:

No seriously though i agree with the majority there stuff is ugly, and ridiculous. Some people like to see the brands of the parts they run on the parts themselves which is ridiculous.

Lately you sound like what I hear when I drink alot of milk . :D

STEVE COLE = :blowme::thumbsdown: I think that covers the basis of this thread..:D

Covers the basis of this thread??? Are you serious? Do you see any TTS or STEVE COLE in the thread title or first post?

Does everyone around here really feel like they need to bash steve for aproval? Does it make them feel like they are less part of the gang if they dont say "poo on stevie"???

I bet you've never even owned, seen, or used a TTS product but because this is Duramax Diesels and lest we forget that steve cole is the only reason this whole forum or "team salad" exists if you think about it. I dont know why everyone feels like its part of the "team salad code of conduct" to be immature like this. You probably also have no idea what TTS even stands for, and where steve got his start in his business. (Ill give you a hint, it wasnt with duramax's)

Its really irritating, this is a thread about RBP. I know RBP and TTS are each three letters, but how are they related in any way that necessitates involving both of them in the same conversation. There has been like 5 threads started over the past year by Pat saying "ok ok ok fine. FROM NOW ON, we will be civil and never mention TTS or steve again". Every time Ive rolled my eyes and called BS, and sure enough it lasts for like a week before someone feels the need to add in some little snickering totally unrelated TTS comment to a thread.

Im not taking any one side, Ive never talked to steve in person, I dont own any of his products and never will own any of his products. I dislike him because of the way he conducts himself on

I bet more than half of you people on here just dislike him "just because everyone else does". You know what the funniest part is, the people who do the most TTS bashing and "steve sucks" posts, are the newbs who have only been around a year or two and no NOTHING of the real duramax-world drama history. They all come barging in and suddenly want to feel like they are part of the gang. Hmmm lets see...I see a lot of people bashing this steve cole guy...and whenever someone bashes him, everyone else laughs..hmm...ok so bashing steve must be the right thing to do....if I do that, Ill suddenly fit in and everyone will accept me! Perfect!!

There are TONS of people who have been around longer than me....but I feel like at least on this forum Im one of the few who has actually seen the duramax world go from playing kick ball with your friends at recess to jerry springer...Lots of things have changed in the past 5 years, and continuously bashing steve for stupid reasons isnt the way to a positive next 5 years.

I have a lot of respect for mcrat racing, pat, and everyone on here. Im not saying this to defend steve. Im saying this to protect everyone from looking like immature children and uphold the forward thinking, driven, and respectful image that 'team salad' can and does have.

rant off.

Hmm some of your posts were a little more personal.....i simply ask if your buddies with Steve because you get irritated because someone brings him up....I agree many comments were out of place...but you seem to make more personal attacks on people....like my bumpers which apparantly look like crap. Why is it that every post you make is derogatory?
