I am thinking this weekend I am going to instead of having the pin just barly touching the top leaf actually put some preload on it and see how it rides and handles

The trick is to not make them so tight that when the rear squats down as you leave the line it loads and then stays loaded.
I have found that clamping the springs helps also.

clamping the spring pack to the overload stiffens the whole pack not allowing it to flex as much. Guys use different things to clamp them, auto zone has an actual spring clamp kit with two u bolts, two pieces of plate and four nuts for a few $$$

Oo ok I've gotcha now. Thanks for clearing that up! I took out my rear overload spring to get an extra little bit lower as well as a slight better ride, so not anything I need to mess with... Haha

you could probably clamp just the pack together also,
but if your running caltracs I don't think I would clamp my springs. because they are actually using some flex to perform their job, seems counter productive to me

Yea I agree on that! Whole reason I went with Caltracs in the first place is because I had removed that rear overload spring so figured compared to regular traction bars the Caltracs would be better for my setup!

for drag racing cal tracs seem to be great.
pulling the long bars seem to do the best.
What 60 ft times did you get today?

That's another reason why I went with them. There is a handful that pull with them but not what there designed for... And are you asking me my 60ft times?

Noise and ride. If I preloaded them enough to be half ass quiet, they ride like a log wagon.

I am going to have to agree with this... They do a great job at the track, look good, install is easy and nice... But as far as ride quailty and sound not what I was wanting... :(
