started a new thread for easier reference . installed my QA1 front shocks last night and so far the part # DTC1538P worked perfectly , leangth was perfect . Only thing that needs to be done is the metal bushing sleeve is to small for our lower shock bolt . I stole the metal sleave from the stock shocks and used it but you can buy a sleave before hand now that we know its needed . you have to enlarge the hole in the poly bushing to fit the larger sleave i used a drill bit . the top mount is a little loose till you tighten the nut on the shaft compressing the bushings and then it is very solid no play .
so far quick drive last night and they are very very nice , but they should be for that price , i ended up for stiff street/performance set up 10 clicks rebound and 5 clicks compression , there are 24 clicks for each setting so there is plenty of adjustment for our trucks . i will keep updating this thread as testing continues. As of this point i can say they seem to be worth every penny :D front end dive under breaking is non exsistant, and cant feel any lift under exceleration but ride is not harsh stiff wich i like but not harsh . i will have them at the strip in 2 weeks :D

:cool2: how much did you lower your truck in the front? Would these shocks still work if the front was lowered 5 inches?

mine has the tbar bolts all the way removed and still have 2 1/2 - 3" of downward travel, these would be the equivilant to stock leingth. but check they have many different leingths availible .

after driving this around town playing with adjustments and such i think once people get past the sticker shock you will see alot of guys going this route . specialy once a few of us get some track results i think its really going to launch well , and the beauty is that within the settings you have tyhe perfect shock for any occasion no matter if your racing , towing , or just crusing , they are quite impressive the valving spectrom , from very soft to harder than you would ever want , still have not maxed them out . i will though just to find there limmits . so far crusing around town i just change a click or 2 and see what it does .

looks pretty good . have not tried the single adjustable but almost did because they were 100 bucks less might be a good . i am shure they are top notch just have to try the valving out and see if you like it . the thing that made me go to the double adjustable's is i tend to like low compression and very heavy rebound settings . , after driving the truck with zero shocks ( like litteraly not even mounted ) i got a good feel for the spring rate of our torsion bars and they have about the right stiffnes with out a shock . i am running 5 clicks on compression and am up to 14 clicks rebound... feels realy good :driving: lets us know if you try them .

Might try those along witha 3/5 DJM lowering kit and run 18"

:cool2: , they would work great they still have the rebound adj . wich is what is relly nec , i might try some a-arms or drop keys myself . not shure wich is better though . i only want another 1"-2 " of drop more on the front , scared of the axel angles going to much negative angle , what are your thoughts on this ?

For racing i would say QA1's hands down ( or any other quality adjustable shock ) , the air over shocks are more of a load helper . what is your use going to be . i asumed racing because of you toyo thread :D

correct...racing.... application would be on my 01. if they work well enough then i will probably swap out the 9000x's on Ironhyde too because sometimes we can't run our Road Armor and our front end shoots up off the line

I just picked up a set of qa1 R series pn#hal-rc15389 they only have adjustable rebound , but that is all I'm interested in. Ill be pulling with them this weekend. they only cost 139.$ so far I'm very impressed with them looks to be a must for drags and pulling.

Sweet thats good price ... let us know what you think ? how much rebound adjust do they have ? was curious if they could go as stiff as the double adjustables ? it would be good to have a cheaper alternative for the guys not wanting the double's .
