The Dodge guys on CompetitionDiesel.com probably know who has the best price on shields. I just use a pair of universal Lakewood blankets on the Allison and so far all tech guys have said AOK.

To be honest, I'm curious as to how effective intercoolers are on high boost diesels intended for drag racing. Most pro turbo drag cars don't run intercoolers.

Nitrous is probably the world's best intercooler.

PS - Love your truck. :thumb:

We calculate that charge air will be around 250 celsius, it will need huge shot of nitrous to cool. By our calculations it was 60 kg/minute or so nitrous to cool it down iirc.(edit. I may remember this wrong, but it was shitload of nitrous that was needed).
And other fuel drag cars dont usually have 75+ lbs boost levels, that will also make air much warmer than lower boost.
I will use pre-turbo w/a injection, coolers and nitrous all together. I had enough heat problems with heads last year with less power than this should make.

You have to be looking like a grizzly bear by now...:D

I had to eat my word and cut the beard. Usually I keep my word. :D
But I have been recently only wrenching my friends land speed ZX14, we got last weekend 246.8 mph speed in standing mile with stock looking fairings. Now I try to make quick build for it and make bigger turbo with methanol fuel, then we try to get it far over 250 mph.
After I get this bike ready, I will continue with race truck and hope I can turn key at march. Just need some motivation for it.

We should be your motivation to finish the build. We can't wait to see this thing run. Awesome project and atleast you are breaking records with something. Good luck with the bikes and the truck

Yes you and this forum are my motivation for this build, this is only forum I have read of diesels in six months. That is why I try to avoid this forum and try to stay in local bike forums. We have one "evil" land speed team here I need to beat and must get all my energy of doing that. After it I can get my eye back on this project.

Small offtopic again.
Got bike last friday here, and here is new turboset I build to it. It will be fast as hell when ready. I hope I can get all metal works ready in few days, then frame will go to fairing modifications and I can continue with engine build and installing mechanical fuel pump. Bike will use methanol as fuel.
After this project I continue with race truck :D
