The higher the pressure, the quicker they will clamp. The single sided clutches are not your best choice. They will warp in C3.
How did you get to 270 psi? And yes bump the pressure up.
My spring will put you at 290 psi, add a shim and you're at 315-320. Add 2 shims and you're at 335-350.
Trans has stock spring and suncoast shim. What should my pressure be? With 700 hp in a sled pulling application.
700hp in a sled pulling application, I'd put in mikes spring and install the shim as well for right around 325 psi. What clutches and converter are currently in the trans?
Pressure plug is at the bottom of the bell housing next to spin on. You will need a special adapter.
Off topic a little Mike, but can an Allison be built to hold up in a pulling truck at 1200hp? Seem's almost everyone changes over to ZF6 at that hp pulling.
Gmax single sided clutches but thinking of swapping c3 clutch to suncoast specd gpz. Converter is precision ml pulling out to have restalled.
It can help a stock trans but I worry what will happen with the converter clutch lining if it's stock. Temps might go slightly higher.
