It can help a stock trans but I worry what will happen with the converter clutch lining if it's stock. Temps might go slightly higher.

From your opinion on my 115-120° cruising temps in 30-40° ambient air, I have a rather large temp cushion. Summertime 80-90° air temps tranny runs 140-150°

I started my own thread if you would like to respond there.

Thanks!

I have no experience in sled pulling and don't know which trans would be better. I've built a bunch of Allisons and set them up for sled pulling but don't know if a stick shift is better. My transmissions have done well is all I can tell you.The trucks won a lot.:D:dontknow:
Sorry but sled pulling just doesn't interest me.

This is on a truck that gets zero road miles. My trans has 433k miles on it. All I'm running is ATS converter, ATS spring and little cam thingy, and DHD lock up box. I honestly couldn't tell you if there are adverse affects on the trans. And I do 4th gear starts

So far so good

Hey Mike,
At last pull I smelled clutches. Pressure is at 275 and hp is 750. What should I raise it to when I freshen trans?

Use 2 shims. Make sure there is no knock down. What kit are you using and what converter? Is the converter locking when it should?
