I wonder how long until the nuthuggers show up here and this thread goes to hell...

I buy my tune licenses from him... Never had any trouble getting them. I also tune my own junk, so know one to be pissed at but myself when it doesn't work properly...

Sucks to read so much negative stuff about PPEI I have recommended Kory to a lot of people but if this how he is treating some customers....

Curious as to why? Is it cheaper than direct from efi?

I can buy a vin license direct from efi lives site and have the code within 10 minutes (maximum) any time of day.

I had never ordered one before and found Kory's tutorial on u-tube... He is also a vendor on here so I thought why not... Same price I think 125.00

I think it's already past that point.

This isn't DF...
Sometimes I wish they'd all go back there.....

As Burndown said, I too have recommended PPEI to people for tuning before. IMO, there's never a good reason for poor customer service, but we can hope that gets corrected sometime soon. Sometimes businesses grow far too fast for the owner to keep up.

I'd also like to know exactly what the o/p did to get in this predicament.

I buy mine from socal. They've always got them out to me in a hurry, they're in the states, and are an efilive vendor. I bought one from them direct, and what a nightmare. Nothing against them, but my card company all but refused to do it until I called them up and spent 30 minutes on the phone getting walked through it with my card company, and then paying a 1.5% transaction fee because it took a representative to do it because New Zealand was a known country for hackers to work from.

Yeah i was left unimpressed by him after the ordeal.

And I agree, I think it grew to fast for him. I felt like he didn't give care about getting my tunes right, when he could be shipping out lml autocals instead.

I buy mine straight from EFI too. Make sure your bank is a credit union, or they charge an out of state fee, like 3.75 for PNC here locally. But my CC is through a credit union so its all good. I like having a code in 5-10 min, not 24hrs. I've put some small tunes on trucks locally, and I always wait until they show with $ in hand before I order a license and EFI Lives' site makes it easy.

Another reason I had Mark tune my truck wasn't only his reputation, but having the truck in person, on the dyno, and going for a test ride to make sure I was happy. That extra step is worth it. I had tunes on my truck to start with, and he was gracious enough to run 3 of them before he retuned it, to see where I was at with my shoddy tuning

Jesus! Is this a PPEI tuning bash or are we trying to figure out what the he'll the OP did to his truck?

You're right, totally got off track.

He hasn't responded in days, as long as he has the emailed file, full flash it and carry on...but if he erased them from the AutoCal, he's screwed until Kory answers him and emails the files.

Kory seems to be pretty active on Facebook, he could reach out to him that way even though Kory says to email him or call him on some of his facebook posts.

I have never ordered license for the V2 directly from EFI LIve, but I did order a V1 license about a year ago and it took about 7 days to get the license lol

I cut out the middle man and email Kory directly. You won't get him by phone so I just email and have had no issues. He has helped me out a ton with fine tuning. So to the OP if he returns to this thread just email him.

Heyyy!!! Welcome to the party!

So, rundown:

PPEI has gone to be the biggest customer tuning company in the industry according to EFILIVE. It happened REALLY fast, and im pretty stoked about it...It was just a few years ago i was on this very forum helping people with their EFI issues. We went through a few months a couple years ago where i almost lost it... it was growing wayyy too fast, but thankfully i staffed up in time to catch it and have record breaking years without any drop in numbers. I pretty well stay on new development all the time for Ecodiesel, Duramax, Powerstroke, Cummins, and a few other models along with our new Powersports venture. We tune roughly 50 trucks a day hit or miss right now. We do not expect each and every one to be perfect... but i have 4+ guys on phones every day here to answer calls 9-5. I, in the past 2 years, decided to have a life after work... so i dont check things after work much anymore... Its truthfully been nice getting to know my wife after working 18+ hours a day since 2009. I do see my guys helping many hours after work, as i do as well at times if i check email.

So, "I cant talk to Kory on the phone"... We go through around 400+ calls a day, 75% of them ask to speak to me. What happens when i talk on the phone all day about "What tune power levels we offer"? Nothing gets done, future development stops, and ultimately business goes downhill. Believe it or not... When i was still using my cell (About the time i decided I couldnt do it all anymore and i wasnt superman and had to go to the Dr. with high blood pressure at 22) I actually went 3 nights ina row with my phone non stop ringing through the whole night... Got ZERO sleep, and most of it was "I lost my tune file, can you resend it.. sorry to call so late"... Its unfortunate that people have no respect for someones personal time, but it is what it is. We have some highly trained staff that can work through all the mishaps and I generally answer emails within 2 hours DURING business hours, although i was up last night at 11 helping someone flash because like the OP, his Autocal reformatted itself while he was trying to tune it... on the side of the interstate... Yep, i seen it on email and I helped as my wife just fell asleep... Those days still happen sometimes.

I do my best to help each and every person resolve their issues as quickly as possible, however, I know we will not hit it perfect every time. Many times someone purchases our products from 3 chains of a vendor... thats 3 emails that have to be gone through to even get to me.

My email is [email protected] -If anyone needs anything, that is my email and im happy to help! We are working on some really cool stuff that will change EVERYTHING in the near future, i agree my plate is full, but i have the staff here to be able to handle any issues someone may have!

On the intake- Its just a HSP intake we had labeled, not world changing... but just something we wanted to offer because we thought it would be cool. We have people switch from others to our tuning and it fix their problems, and then we have others switch from us to a competitor and it fix it. Its the way it rolls sometimes...

So... again, if anyone needs anything- we are happy to help... If one would like to continue on a fest that will get no where.. so be it, but we are here to help and solve problems the best we can. We WILL fall short at times, we are human indeed... but if anything I'll stand behind trying to fix something. I do not consider myself "the best"... I do not think of things like that... but i do consider myself to do the best I can do and accept when I make a mistake or just "miss it"... I do pride myself on generally being the first to market with the development though.

So all in all... Not too cool to treat any one person or any company as a kicking post if they have had no purpose ill intentions. Ultimately, this is DuramaxDiesels- I have been here a while and can ultimately understand how things work here and I can take it. LOL

OP- If you have any issues, feel free to give us a shout and we will be happy to help you, one of my guys can log into your computer and do it for you!

You know what.. The thing is- I get it.

I got into tuning because I had my truck (LLY back in 2006) tuned and the AC quit working. I worked with the guy and got charged for revions, etc on things that werent even messed up. I paid 750 bucks for that tune and by the time it was said and done, I had 1000 tied up into it and then was told to pound sand and do it myself.. So i purchased EFI. I found out how to match a stock file up with what my truck came with and problem was solved.

I was soooo pissed, I wanted to call him out to the world. I was sooooo mad, i said "If i ever do this full time, i want to be sure at least get a stock file back in the truck to each and every customer that way we can weigh it out"... Now days, I try and still do that. I will look at datalogs and analyze them to the best of my abilities, and sometimes I'm just off... but the majority of the times- we fix it. I go through around 100 logs a day and fix MANY types of things, however, 75% of datalogs end up being me helping a shop diagnose issues they should of found... In which we do not charge a dime.

I know sometimes it may feel like "The runaround", but if in the datalog it doesnt look totally like what i expect, i like to start simple with the most basic things and then go into the calibration. These calibrations have been rolling for a lonnnngggg time, and although not each and every truck loves them as much as the next.. we just go through basic protocol to fix it.

Anyone with frustrations, I stated my email above and will be happy to make things right if there was something that got off somewhere. To all of our other customers, thank you all very much and if anything is needed, we are right here.
