Cant beat the price and have had good luck with them and know a ton of guys running them:thumb: And yes to part B of your quesiton, the best way for most setups is to not even have it running all the time only when you hit say 7psi

PPE pumps are a hit or miss it seems. Ive had my TTS pumps on for over 2 years without a single issue. Quiet too. :thumb:

the pump is "flow through" but you wont be going 65mph on the freeway if it takes a crap. Maybe mor elike 25mph.

I have an edelbrock 1792, same thing pretty much and it is good I replace one every 2 yrs but I only turn it on when I'm getting on it. I can run 70 down the highway without it on.

Mine crapped out after 10k miles as did my buddies. I'm not knocking PPE but that pump is junk. Although PPE did stand behind my buddies and replaced it no questions asked. I would go with an airdog or fass.

Mines been on for about 30k miles, run for probably 5k of of those. It still makes pressure (how much I don't know) but it sounds horrible.

Like Brian said its not a flow through unless they changed the design. Mine went bad after 6 months and it made my truck go into limp mode. I dont see how you can drive around with it off and still maintain rail pressure? Plus that has to be hard on the CP3!

You leave the pump off most of the time when driving? I was going to run it all the time to help out the cp3.

Mindset goes both ways. Leaving it on helps the cp3, turning it off supposedly saves wear and tear on the liftpump..... whole lot of good that did me.

Would it make sense to install a valve bypassing the lift pump? Maybe an electronic valve that alternates with the lift pump, pump has power or valve does. That way at least your not stranded. I'm going to plumb in a bypass valve ICE.

Mine has a bypass. I added it so I could run without having the pump on and not have to worry about the pump being flow through.

I've lost count on how many I had. On the flow thru argument, you really can't tell to be honest with you. Some you couldn't get past 2000 rpm because they didnt allow much fuel to flow, others you wouldn't be able to tell it would pass all the fuel you need when it died. V3 is there newest and suppose to fix some issues they had. I had one of those break within in a week IIRC but the one I have now seems strong still

well i noticed my pump was always fluctuating (making different sounds). i thought it was just the pump being weird as i never suffered from any lack of fuel. but then a couple weeks ago i was like" wheres the loud annoying buzzing sound" (i run my pump all the time) and i thought that the pump had taken a dump...it threw the 0087 code. so initially i was pissed since ive only had the pump for 11 months. but it turned out to be my batteries going bad AGAIN ... i put 2 new red tops and the pump is louder than ever and no more changes in tone, just one consistent annoying buzz:D

I think the PPE pumps are junk. Ive installed several, and they all seem to fail in about 10-20,000 miles.

How bad is the noise. I drive with the radio off and the windows up and the air blowing. Can the noise be heard in the cab while driving or only when stopped at a light.
