Mine was leaking. Took it all apart and tried to get a new seal at checker and vato zone since it was too late to try a good parts store. FAIL. Put it back together without changing anything and voila it never leaked again.
mine were 3 pcs when i pulled them off the spindle the stock style seal is a piece of crap compared to the steel timken style that pounds into the back of the hubGot it done. Seal came off in two parts. Didn't really notice the part on the spindle till I read the thread in the link from my previous post. Live and learn I guess. Hardest part of the whole project was getting the dang caliper bolts loose.
dmaxvaz, mine actually came apart in 3 parts too. Hopefully this new seal is better. I read a few posts where people were having a re-occurring problem with this leak after replacing the seal. I hope this isn't the case. Although now that i know what i'm doing, it wouldn't take long to replace it again. One question: When filling the differential back up, is there a specific procedure? I filled mine up after i initially had to re-install the old one, took it for a ride. Then when i took it apart again, there didn't seem to be fluid in the axle like when originally pulling the axle. Does it take a while for the fluid to flow down to the axle? My initial ride was only about a mile.
