What would be a good spot to tie in a oil press sensor
Preferably I would like a tap on the PS

I am tapped into the oil cooler allready in one spot for the turbo oil line

I would just like to know what you think would be the best spot?:)

I have one of KB's oil coolers on my truck and it uses a similar base to route the oil. You could contact him for p#s.

Thanks I remeber seeing something like that on Summit site but I wasnt sure if it was for a Dmax the one I seen actually screwed onto where the filter goes and then blocks off the bottom then you remounted your oil filter with braided hose to where ever you heart desires or atleast to the fram rail,It also had 2 taps for pressure readings

But still didnt confirm weather it was for a Dmax

I know PPE has a nice oil cooler but it is a lil out of the price range at this time

There is a 14mm plug in the bottom of the block. This is on the front of the motor and very easy to get to. It is an extension of the galley that feed's the piston squirters. This is the tap that's used for the alternative feed for a turbo oil supply. When I get back to FL, I'll post a pic of it.

Is that where your oil feed line comes from?

Ya a Pic would be nice Thanks Steve

Simon,

When you get the block back you'll see a few spots to get what you want, IIRC the factory spot is a pretty good location. IIRC it's located in the squirter galley? Second to last one pass side? Last in line would reflect the lowest pressure no?

Another option i looked into and haven't decided yet appears to be a good one. PARKER has hydraulic fluid remote filter mounts (400-500 PSI) as do all the big diesel repair shops, they are primarily remote mounted as well. Pick a housing that jives with your hose ID and put it wherever you want, some will have a high pressure spring in them to avoid popping the filter at 120 PSI. Most of these aftermarket remote monts have taps in them for pressure. Another company to look into is... crap forgot! Again! They have red filters...

Anyway, I got a 15 lb pressure switch and a BIG red shift lite if pressure falls below, could save me a bearing or two if I caught it in time.

Look around lotsa stuff out there. I find all kinds of neat stuff that's better at big rig shops and Parker, the saleman you get makes all the difference. At this point i have determined "Earls" is less than adequate.

Haveing a block to look at would be nice! The remote filter is a interesting option,Ive seen a couple different ones now

I have a oil pressure gauge ( Nexus ) that has alarms you can set for the same reason you have the shift light

I used those for the turbo feed and for the oil press gauge

messure oil pressure at the last bearing/lube spot furtherst from the pump..

if anything gois out prior to that last spot you will know.

iirc the LB7 pressire sensor is on right side of the block opsotie of the oil pump

01 is closest to the pump on the DS and 02 are on DS 3rd plug from the front

My autometer gauge is measuring from the PS right close to the pump and and factory is 3rd from the front PS like a 02+

there is also one below and to the right of the oil filter, I am currently using that for my turbo oil feed.
