Sure have but it would need to be worth the move or rotational work. I love and miss it but all my friends that always said "come back there's jobs waiting" can't deliver when I need it most. I will look into those two companies. Or if you know anyone hiring I can send a resume.

What kind of money are you needing?

Union journeyman electrians make lots of money around here. Unfortunately you have no petrochemical background so its going to be very hard to get into the oilfield. You're going to have to wait. Shoot for 6 months and if its sooner great but if its longer don't be surprised

I'm colorblind..don't think they want me electronic-ing anything haha...I've considered the ironworkers or similar even though I'm not a big union guy..but whats apprentice pay like?

Can you be in the oil field if you're colorblind? Electrical and plumbers apprentices make between 30-40 an hour journeymen are closer to 90$ hr but I live in the SF bay area which is very expensive.

Gotcha. I don't see why you can't be in the oilfield. I know folks that are and colorblind...maybe not in an electrician type capacity but idk..

Believe it or not being a veteran isn't recognized as a bonus in some professions. My local fire districts BC has told me on numerous occasions that he would never hire a vet due to the potential for PTSD. Police seem to love seeing military experience on resumes... Have you thought about law enforcement?

Yeah I have thought about LE but haven't decided. My GI Bill will pay for me to complete an academy without a dept sponsoring me but idk if that's what I want to do forever.

Right on. I still haven't heard back from Patterson but heard they are slow in the HR department. Is there an appropriate amount of time to wait before asking for an update? I did the interview and got the conditional offer about 5 weeks ago and took the drug test almost 3 weeks ago.

states have a big impact on this! state of CT can care less about a VETERAN state of Florida on the other hand will speed up the process just to bring you on the force and thrive for your knowledge you have already experienced. Reason i am leaving this state!
