Well, I installed new style towing mirrors, which I really like the back up lights, but I need to level the mirrors for better field of view. Also had a fuse holder short out some how, and almost burnt down my truck, which maybe wouldn't have been a the worse out come. Need less to say, if you smell anything weird, find out whats causing it. Plus I managed to lose half an inch of my thumb last mouth, so all my vehicle related plans are probably on hold until next year.:rolleyes:

TX of course
I like the mirrors. I want some on my LBZ, but I’m to cheap to buy them when my mirrors are fine.

Damn that’s not even over of those cheap fuse holders. I had one melt on me for my HIDs once. It was almost melted in half by the time I saw it In the middle of a cross country trip. Lucky it didn’t leave me stranded since we try and travel at night and where in BFE Utah.

I have to brag a little bit on my old girl. I used to dislike towing with it because I had to turn the power down to stock and watch my speed to keep it from warming up. Not anymore.
I finally had enough of it using coolant when I beat on it.
She recently got re-man fleece heads, ppe manifolds, up pipes, and down pipe, head studs, new oil cooler and an all aluminum radiator (don't know brand, took it off a customer's truck because his trans failed. He didn't want it back so on my truck it went. Zf6 ftw)
This thing is a different animal. More power and it runs 180* no matter the tune. On our first little trip I realized I never soldered the dsp5 wires back together from when I pulled the cab. Tony's tunes default to the big one so I never noticed till I went to turn it down after hooking up. It did flawlessly. Next trip I just left it on 5. Really put it to the test passing on a 2 lane. 5th gear WOT run from 55 to 85 to pass a couple cars. Egt's just kissed 1500* and coolant got up to 190*. And I average 12mpg with it on both trips! Which isn't much worse than my 6.7 Ford gets empty. 20201115_094908.jpg20201029_190550.jpg

I wouldve loved to see the faces of the people you passed while towing that monster. Now, go buy some airbags for the ass end.

Yes I do need to do something there. Those springs are tired. It's on the overloads with just my little 42" zero turn in the bed

I got some new headlights, with the old ones I couldn't see crap. I was hoping to upgrade the projector in these headlights, but didn't realize that the projector is cast into the fixure, so I ended up upgrading the bulbs to some Morimoto H1 HID's. I haven't decided what to do with the helo rings yet, I am not a big fan of them, so I have hooked them up yet.

Pulled rear diff cover to confirm what I figured was a broken cam plate and the pin that it drives to run the lockup portion in the g80. Now to see if I can find those 2 parts so I don’t have to buy a new diff and all the other goodies

Absolutely sick to my stomach right now. Parked my tracker behind the truck while both are in the street (never do that), head was not thinking about the fact I just parked the tracker behind it. Threw the truck into reverse and back right into the trackers bumper. 100% my fault and 100% pissed off as hell at myself!!!

Guess I’ll be looking at tailgate prices tomorrow....

Used BBT as a truck Saturday. Drove 250 miles round trip in snowy conditions to buy a set of winter wheels for the FDIL. :) Even stayed in 2wd the whole way. Truck doesnt miss a beat. :)

Sorry to see you hurt your new truck, James. It happens.

@05LLYDMAX was kind enough to let me borrow his goose and another good buddy let me borrow their bobcat. Got some work to do at the new place in the back yard. Move in is Saturday and kids need a semi cactus free back yard

I might build some jumps for the tracker back there too

Happened to notice last week that the old belt was split right down the middle in spots. All three pulleys were making noise when I spun them, too. So, new belt and pulleys today.

Guess that happens after 11 years, whether driven or parked.....

I installed an upgraded DHD water pump and 2020 oil cooler last week. Also cleaned the cooling stack up a bit. Other than some issues with o-rings (my fault) not a terribly hard job.
