Finally after a bunch of restarts to get everything thing how I wanted, I got my twins more or less wrapped up, tomorrow I need to make the down pipe, pull everything apart for paint/polish and puts some new injectors in. Hopefully sometime over the next 2 weeks I can make it out to Mark's for a tune.

Nice looks good !

Son needed me to help him move some furniture down to Detroit and bring back the old stuff for his sister, so needed to change the oil and do some maintenance on BBT.

While the oil monitor still said 5%, I was shocked and embarrassed at how long its been since I last changed the oil. Well, at least I know I can build one tough engine that can handle anything.....

Had a whine coming from the tires/driveline for a few years, so while I was under the truck, I inspected the tires -- there was checking between the treads and in the sidewalls. Checked the date codes on them, they were all 8 years old. Maybe had 10000 miles on them. Damn it.

So off to Discount Tire I went.....$832 later BBT has new shoes.

I decided to replace the power steering pump and associated hoses. The engine has 207,000 miles and the high pressure hoses were weeping. This is also to hopefully to alleviate the vibration/buzzing feeling I'm getting through the brake and accelerator pedal. Got everything apart and removed in about 4hrs. but brown didn't show up till 6 p.m. Was tired of waiting for him and beer thirty decided to come early.
Well I'm sure glad I did this because I also found two small rub leaks in the hot pipe. Fixed those and then installed the new PSC power steering pump. Very nice unit. Bleed the system out with about 4 qts of fluid and then for a drive. I will say the steering is way smoother and braking seemed a bit firmer. As for the vibration/buzzing, it's about 75% gone. I wished I had done this years ago.

Washed, claybarred, and polished the cab of the truck with my new G9 Griots orbital polisher last week. Washed and claybarred the bed and ended up polishing the tailgate in the garage since its was raining all day. I'll polish the bed once i get it back on the truck.

Took the damper off. It actually came off pretty easy. Sprayed it down with some Deep Creep yesterday. I did have to get out the breaker bar thought my 1/2" impact didn't want none of it. 4' long 1/4" thick square tubing cheater made it pretty easy.

Getting some more engine parts for paint aswell.

Pulled the 20s off and went to 17s. Decranked the keys a bit. Rides 150% better than she did before! Also had to drop new batteries in her. Thankfully they were prorated.

Finally got around to putting my horn on this truck. Tight fit for sure but it all does. I had everything in the same place on my ‘04. Setup is a Nathan P3 with a Viair 460c compressor and a 5 gallon tank but for some reason I think it’s 3 lol. IMG_5133.jpg

Looks good! What did you paint it with. Mine started to chip with paint, so I tried plastic dip this time. if that doesn’t last a while I’m going to try and wrap it.

if you get enough coats of plasti-dip, it seems to hold up decent. the door trim on my tracker has been plasti-dipped for the last few years. only time i see it really coming off is when i run miles and miles of sandy roads, then it sand blasts it off but no surprise. i hardly get rock chips with all the dirt i see though.

wrapping would probably be the best though.

I did about 5 coats of plasti dip on my lmls emblem. It held up well for 3 years on alot of gravel road travel. Started peeling so i sprayed it black. The lb7s emblem i had some left over black rattle can from something laying around. Taped everything off sprayed it and let sit over night and it looks great and has held up well so far. Live on a 2 mile private gravel road and work on one also. Think i did 3 coats with the lb7 emblem

Went to start the truck the other morning to go to work and heard a good thump... thought was a pop, almost like a backfire, thru the exhaust (dual stacks  ) but checking mirrors I didn't see any smoke or anything. It seemed to be running fine and all gauges looked normal & no lights...Thought, well, maybe it was the belt bc something has been intermittently squeaking in the accessory belt system so I shut it down and pop the hood latch. As soon as I get out I see hair flying.I knew what it was then... Eased the hood open and hair is everywhere! But no creature. The hair looks like either squirrel tail or tabby cat... Wait! My cat is a tabby cat and is outside! Luckily I saw him on the back porch just before I went out front to leave so I was sure it wasn't him. There is a neighborhood tabby cat and I've seen it on/around my truck plenty of times. I look around a little but see no creature and didn't have a good enough light handy to see much down into the engine bay but heard a "sigh" from something. Instead of risking a repeat, I left it be and drove a different vehicle that day. That evening I took a closer look trying to find the creature but saw nothing. I figured it was either gone and I only got it's tail or it had curled up and died inside the fan shroud. Ugh. Drove it to work the next day and someone commented it stunk like a dead animal around my truck. Great it's in there! (n) Didn't look into it at work. Got home and this time I found it! Squirrel with a stripped tail  and guts hanging out. IDK where it was the first time I looked but this time it was dangling just above the plastic splash guard towards the passenger side so I retched up in there and got it out. Flies. Mercy the flies already had him! It's been 80*+ everyday so he was RIPE!

I can't see where he did any damage accept a coiled up piece of wire came out with him... I have no idea what the coiled wire went to and everything is still working like it should. 🤷‍♂️ The only thing I could think the wire might be to is the block heater? but it's not coiled at the plug end and this wire isn't very big so IDK if it's to that or not?

Just some random rattle can satin black that was in the garage. Took me 45 minutes to mask off the emblem’s chrome once I took it off the truck. It has some rock chips from when it was red, but overall I’m happy with the outcome. I’ll get a new one and make it gloss black one day.
