We've all been there when setting the truck up for the track. Gotta look good when you blow by a "faster" car.

What did you use for paint on the hubs, russ? looks good!
This is what i used. Is it the best for the application I used it on maybe not, but it looks good and should last awhile since I dont DD the truck. I am happy with the results.

Looks good Russ. I used Rust-Oleum high performance enamel when I painted my hubs. Been a couple of years and the paint still looks good. You should have no problems with it lasting for years to come. I just touched up the fronts when I install my lift.

Nice! I used just the regular old rustoleum stuff when I did mine and it holds up really well. Fades over a few years but nothing another coat won’t fix

Hey mike, good looking truck. Sorta twins with mine. Is yours lifted?
Yes sir! Just installed in March. Cognito ntbd 4-6 set at 4. Thinking about adding some sulastic shackles in the back and giving the front tbar bolts another turn to get a better ride. Right now jounce bumpers are touching the stops like factory but I'm searching for a plusher ride if I can. Probably bug James and pick his brain to see what he thinks about it later.

Since the weather out here is getting warmer I noticed on a recent trip to the desert my trans is running warm. Outside temps were around 90-100f where I was at. After climbing the cajon pass and stopping at the pilot gas station on hwy 395, trans was at 221f with just my family of 5 and no gear in the back. Thought it was strange to be that warm and pretty much empty. Today I checked my trans fluid and this morning it was 65f outside at 5am. Fluid level was more than 3/4 up the hot hash marks and after 20 mins of driving it was 145f. Definitely over full with fluid. Got home after work and checked it again. Trans was at 165f and the fluid level was a little passed the hot band on the dip stick. Definitely overfilled and I ended up taking out a quart of trans fluid. Now at 185f I am in the middle of the hot band on the dip stick.

Thank you Mike L. for answering my PM's and giving me some guidance.

Truck looks great mike. Thinking that’s the ride height I’m going to be wanting. Lowered just doesn’t appeal to me like I thought it would. Found a killer deal on a superlift 4” kit. Might even save enough to powder it a purdy color haha

Got an oil change and air filter change and def fluid topped off in the work truck. Had them adjust air pressure so it’s spot on. Then washed it and applied a few different things for testing purposes. Mothers CMX on hood, windshield, and entire passenger side including glass and front end. Turtle Wax Seal N Shine on roof and drivers side including glass and the back glass. Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax in tailgate and rear bumper. Dressed the tires with some cool chit and called it a night.

Ummmm. I dunno. Working out details in getting my nuts snipped and there is a detail thing I’m trying to attend in August down in Denver. And hunting starts in September and we got a bull elk to stick and a whitetail buck to stick as well. Did I mention I went from 6 shop hands to 3 in 2 weeks. General consensus I’m an asshole to work for but nothing breaks so figure that out. But for real I want to come up and coat that yacht.

As long as you prepared the surface the seal and shine is going to surprise you. I been using that for the last month and the first application is still there. Meguaires doesn't last long in my experience. The application appeals to me but didn't last long. No experience with the mothers.

Thanks man! I did the lowered thing years back and I like the lifted life better. Maybe if I had a regular cab I would lower it and if I had the money race it also. Lol

You know I detail on the side right lol. The turtle wax can hang with the beat of em. I didn’t do the spray on rinse off with the meguiars, got better cooler chit for that. Mother is supposed to last a year so we will see how these all hold up to oilfield life. I’ve got 3 bottles of the SNS and I’ve been using for a while on the wifes until I coat it.

I know you detail. Just giving you my experience with the products that I have been playing with. The meguiars I applied a little different too but didn't really prep the surface when applying. Maybe thats why I didn't get great results.

On the meguiars hcw. I’ve heard if you cut it 6:1 or 7:1 with distilled it’s a lot easier to apply and you can do dry and not do the rinse on rinse off. I’ve also talked with a guy who put it in a flairisol spray bottle and added a few oz of distilled and shook piss out of it. He said it sprays more evenly and works better.
