Just another DuramaxForum staff putting his .02 cents in :hello:

Ever since I started going on the DF It was mostly newbies who just got there vehicles. So what? Everyone starts somewhere. Lately there have been more and more tech members comming on and helping with info technical and non tech. Thats great! It would be awesome to get more people involved on the forum that have tech info and can help out more. It sucks when someones asks a questions about the duramax internals then there is no replies.

For the tech badges. They started out to show other members which members had tech knowledge and whos info to trust. For Toypuller. He has helped out alot before. Maybe some of his recent posts wherent correct I agree with hookem. If you know the real answer. POST IT! You dont have to harass him or anything. Thats just uncalled for. The tech badges for a short time where taken over by autoforums. We took back alot of the badges they gave out and now about 10 members out of 20,000 have them. One night I read one of Ben's posts and rememeberd him when I use to go on the DP. I knew he had some extreamly good info on the duramax and I was hoping he could come on the DF and help out. I gave hime the tech badge then not realising till the following day all the problems he was having with our members and staff.

For the banning. Im not ban happy. I do everything I can to stop it. I have talked to the other staff on the forum and they all have the same attitude as me. The staff member who banned ben doesn't come on as mutch as he use to. I'm sure he saw a bunch of nonsense posts from duratothemax who was a memeber since 2007 and only has 40 posts. Im not looking for a pat on the back or a Oh I agree but what would you think in the same situation? Would you think (if you didnt know the name) Oh this guy is helping out! Hes making sure we realise a member is posting wrong info?! Or.. Oh this guy just came on to stir chit? I know the other admin noticed this thread and found out how and why ben was banned with no warning so he lifted it.

Thats it.

P.S. As for the trans info on this thread. Ya'll are on your own!

Jason, your the best thing going At DF, the site has strayed 110% from its roots as the few of us who started it up for Andy years ago wanted it to be, its a shame, but it is what it is now, two or three staff members cant do it alone, and well good help is hard to find and in the end vote, majority rules!

As for Ben, Id ban him to he has a great amount of knowledge, more so than 95% of other dmax enthusist, but he always acts like an ass and comes across like an ass so In most folks book that makes an ASS!

As for all these transmission cry babies, i say shut up and prove it on the track! MY bets are on the trucks with the Mike L or suncoast trans!

Thank you sir!

Ya there is only myself and another moderator who are there from the original staff. Its weird. I dont think many remember it all started with you and andy! I was and still am against having a huge list of moderators so it doesnt become uncontrolable such as other diesel sites (cough cough). We still do got a good group of guys there. But with the amount of members and posts there are more needed. You know as well as I do that some people get big headed behind a key board. Its hard to tell who they are untill its to late. Heck a few of the staff there we had so many problems with in the past I never imagined they would still be around let alone staff!

I agree with your trans info. Im just trying to save the cash and find a good dealer :D

Well, HondaRider sometimes has issues. :tease: ;)

Just because I prove the "mods" wrong with helpful tech info? I dont see you posting much in efi section..
next time DF should pick mods that have tech posts instead of post whores like they do now.
I like to tell the truth how it is over on DF. Newbs believe everything they hear, because they havent heard the right way yet.
I try to help as much as i can.
Dont get me into this you idiot.

Ouch! It was Humor, lighten up and look in to it. You've had your moments of ass-dom in the past, but overall you're a good guy with excellent input, you know your stuff and, along with Ben, ya'll are a welcome asset to the DF.

No, you won't find me having any input in the 'EFI Live' forum. The wizardry involved there with some, it's amazing stuff but it just doesn't suit my needs. In areas that I do have knowledge and experience, I've shared that and also put together some "How-To's" on many things for the average owner. Suffice it to say, I DO know a lot, about a lot, but I'm the first to say that I don't know everything and I've never claimed so (though people that know me will disagree and try to say different).

As for your perceived requirements for credentials to become a Forum Mod, I think you've got the wrong ideas. A Forum Mod's duties are more along the line of Janitor and Hall Monitor than anything else, there's no Glory involved but having a thick skin helps.

you lost the freaking bet and you know it. Did you look at your airbox sticker yet???

That website you gave me, here, I made something for your own viewing pleasure too. And when you click on "silverado" in that light duty link, it takes you to the "silverado" page. There are no more references to "light duty" after that point.

I already told you, internally, GM calls 1500 trucks/SUV's LIGHT DUTY. They call 2500/3500 trucks HEAVY DUTY. If you go through their entire service manual, they dont have separate "chapters" for 1500/2500/3500 silverados. They just lump the entire silverado section into one section. Read through that section and there are hundreds of references that say things like "heavy duty models only" or "not available on heavy duty models" or "WITH RPO 'HVY' only".

So anything in a GM document that pertains to service, bulletins, etc....if it says LIGHT DUTY, it means 1500. If it says HEAVY DUTY or HD it means 2500/3500. If it says MEDIUM DUTY it means 4500 and up.

You are so stubborn and thick headed its amazing. NO ONE ELSE HERE AGREES WITH YOU on this argument. Stop trying to back pedal or dig yourself out of the hole your in. You lost, Ill forgive you and we can call the bet off, even though Id love to have an extra 100 bucks now.

dodge does the same thing as GM as far as references to, for example "Cummins turbodiesel, only available on Ram Heavy Duty"
