Ben, you’re a smart guy in a lot of areas and I see you have a lot of knowledge that could be beneficial to the D-Max community.

Oh great, here we go. Bens the only bad guy here.

However, you became interested (over there), in the famous ATS thread, of one members remark. For your own entertainment, you decided to research all of the past threads where this member had posted. You then proceeded to bash, ridicule, and try your best to humiliate this member on a regular basis in the open forums.

He was wrong on a bunch of stuff. He is a dealer tech and has a "tech specialist" badge, so new members look up to him for "correct tech advice". So I called him out, ok?

In the process, you enlisted the help of Durallymax in your game of chuckles.

I didnt "enlist the help" of durallymax. You keep making me out to just be a big mean malicious troll and nothing more. These forums are to help other people. Giving out wrong answers ISNT HELPING ANYONE.

Many of the rude and lewd comments were deleted permanently and the staff started warning you of being an overall jerk. As a result you both got yer hands slapped.

the first time I was banned I didnt receive ONE warning. No PM, no nothing. I clicked refresh on the page and it said I was banned. WTF.

Me standing up for you and what you had to bring to the table in knowledge is where the flip-flop came in your banned status. However, you continued with the childish pranks and ended up embarrassing me for sticking up for you. Thanks, Buddy! You're a REAL stand-up Guy!

oh please, you doubted me and blew me off (in the threads where I challanged toypullers wrong information) just like everyone else did. Do you expect to suddenly come over here, make a post like that, and have everyone come over and pat you on the head and say "oooo ok, well we hadnt heard your side of the story, now we realize ben is just a washed up troll looking for attention"

Now, let me say to all that do not know about the famous Tech Badges. The mods on a forum have nothing to do with who gets a Tech Badge, it’s controlled by the Parent, AutoForums. When you are assigned a Tech Badge it’s only because you applied and requested one, it has nothing to do with your level of knowledge. If you didn't want the window dressing below the avatar, why did you apply??

Thats BS, I didnt apply/ask for shit. Your buddy Tow Master slapped it on me and sent me a PM, and I have no idea why. I dont need some gif graphic under my name to reinforce what I know and dont know about the duramax. I PM'd him back telling him what I thought about the idea of a "tech specialist" badge and asked him to remove it. I can bring up that PM if you'd wish as well.

With that said, let’s get back on topic and discuss the thread you’ve referred to where you and I first clashed. Ben, the thread was 2 months old! You took it upon yourself to attack this member over a simple GM BULLETIN he had posted. Granted, I too thought it was bizarre about the relation to the T/H and voltage output.

no you didnt, stop trying to pretend you've always been on my side and like you were always trying to give me the benefit of the doubt over there. You doubted me/challanged my statements just like everyone else did.

Instead of delving deeper into an actual GM produced document as to why they would publish this

They published it because it was true for the light duty (1500 half ton series) trucks......I said that like 50 times. Everyone was glossing over the light duty part and thought that meant it included the "heavy duty" (as GM calls the 2500+ trucks) trucks as well. I said no...its only for half tons, it even says so right on the bulletin. What else do you want me to say. I explained it in the first post ("no..this doesnt apply to dmax's, it says light duty trucks only"). How is that NOT explaining where I got my logic from? Do I need to draw it out in crayon?

you chose to bicker with me over the meaning of a LIGHT DUTY TRUCK!

because people realized their error (that oh crap, I missed that part, maybe ben is right) but didnt want to admit it, so the only thing left to do was to produce a "counter-argument" in effort to divert attention from the original argument (which they lost) and hope everyone forgets the fact that they were dead wrong. Classic forum tactic.

Ben, I’ve been dealing in Fleet Sales for many years, and I own a transport company. That's why I'm on the Fjord and D-Max sites, to gain product knowledge. A LIGHT DUTY TRUCK class is inclusive of all 1500s, 2500s, and 3500s. You then move into the MEDIUM DUTY TRUCK class, which is inclusive of all 4500s and 5500s. There's no such thing as 'kinda light' or 'Heavy Light' or 'diddlly Light'! Go into any Fleet Sales Dept at any GM Dealership and prove otherwise, there’s a Franklin here waiting on you when you do.

Yes, the DOT/EPA/govt have their regulations for light/medium/heavy trucks. But GM refers to things differently INTERNALLY to them. In their own "GM language", a light duty truck is a half ton, equal to or under 8600lbs GVW.

A "heavy duty truck" in GM-speak is a "GM pickup truck over 8600lbs, but not a Kodiak/TopKick".

Why does GM put "HD" on the badges of the dmax pickup trucks....they arent heavy duty as far as the govt or "technical regulations" is concerned right? But GM calls them "Heavy Duty". Go through the entire GM service manual and it will support my argument (GM refers to 1500's as "light duty" and 2500-3500's as "heavy duty" pickup trucks)

No such thing as a "light heavy duty" truck? Go look at your factory dmax air filter box, read whats on the sticker, and come back here and tell me there is no such thing as a "light heavy duty" truck. Argument over, thanks. Ill PM you my paypal address.

To answer your question that you continually asked repeatedly, “Why don’t people take me seriously?” This is how you gain respect & honor in the Forum communities, and have people 'Take You Seriously' and believe in what you bring to the table. Funny thing is, I don’t see you being a jerk on this site. Why is that?

because there arent cocky in-experienced people running around on this forum spouting off mis-information as if they wrote the book on dmax themselves.

Thanks Again Buddy, I stuck up for ya and you thru me under the Bus!

Let me go get my violin.

So you feel it's your apointed duty to warn the world about Team Salad, Pat and me? You like to throw jabs every chance you get. I don't understand why you, Blue Ox, and dmazvaz even come here. You guys never post any tech; but you sure do like to critsize everything.
Here is a hint. Instead of taking shots every chance you guys get; post some tech instead of acting like a bunch of crybabies. I'll even stop calling you names.
I feel like I'm running a kindergarten class with you three.

Yeah, you're right, I've never posted anything of any use to anyone here.

You are not telling the truth about that.

Oh no? I guess I should say 1 and 1/2 after today huh? Anyone can go on GMfullsize and see how it all went down.....

I had a great time at CompD today...I guess I spell worse than Adam today as I thought I typed in duramaxdiesels....HaHaHa....you guys ARE funny.

As far as Mike Lovrich goes, nobody I know of spends more time a week helping Dmax Owners for free. As soon as you hit the 50% mark of what Mike does for the Duramax community, then you might have a basis for an informed opinion. Until then you should just be grateful of those who post a bunch of tech on the internet for you to read. Because if it wasn't for the enthusiasts posting on boards, there wouldn't be anything to read.[/QUOTE]

i can atest to that. mike sold me parts, i installed per his instructions had a drivability question, took it up to him, took up a couple hours of his time, just to hear him say great job on the install!, it shifts perfect. ALL FOR FREE

i was just a noob with no "real" knowledge on trannys. now that ive built one and driven stock vs built i know understand, mostly thanks to Mike!

dont lie ben, you paid me to help you out:rolleyes:
:D I thought that'd get your attention

Ben,
I assure you, my only intent of posting to your rant was the off chance that you truly DID NOT understand your rude and inappropriate actions. As I said, you’re a smart guy and I think you have a lot of knowledge to bring to the table. I’ve seen your presence on the forums and know your not some newbie wanna be,

No one I observed on the DF had a problem with your info on things that you had to add, or the fact that you were pointing out errors in the stated info. That’s how info comes to a forum. Do you really think there’s a rampant conspiracy to blindly ignore and reject any beneficial and correct knowledge input on subjects? Someone adding something new? Ben, it happens every minute of the day on a forum. That’s what a forum does, allow people to share info with others. It was always the way you injected it into the threads, info combined with ridicule and humiliation is unacceptable, and that’s what pissed people off, NOT the fact that you had a different viewpoint on the subject or something new to add. You act as if member's were horrified of your inputs, that's just beyond funny. :D

I never observed you starting any threads to share your knowledge. You never looked into the DIY sections to see if you could inject something of benefit for the average Joe trying to work on his truck, or someone looking to mod for performance. You did start to change at times, and I was impressed. I thought, COOL! He finally GETS it!

For instance, you came in on an active thread and posted the typical short remark regarding stupidity, which may have been interpreted as toward the topic or the member(s). I thought, “Damn, it’s crude but he didn’t cuss, so I’ll leave it.” Then you came back 12 minutes later and edited your remarks. In its place was a polite, lengthy and intelligent explanation of all the what, whereas and how to's in regards to your opinion and input. It seemed like it was a whole page long.

But 20 minutes later, and Mr. Hyde is at it again.

Out of all the active threads where you had problems, you’ve chosen an old, old T/H thread as your nemesis, when in fact there are other threads that you had much worse behavior. However, in this 2-month old and seemingly discarded thread on WHEN to use the T/H feature, you found a mistake in the interpretation of a GM Bulletin posted on the last page as an addendum to the subject, by your favorite member to rag on, and you ran with it.

Ben, this type of simple question is asked hundreds of times by owners new to the T/H feature. It's a meaningless thread with a question asked far too many times, but we answer it to newbies in a way that doesn't leave them going away embarrassed, never to ask a simple question again or try to search through the forums for an answer. It's just a long forgotten meaningless thread. YOU know the in's and out's of the Tow/Haul feature, WHY would you search and open on old thread about a meaningless simple feature that you're fully familiar with, then continue opening mulitple pages? Did you really think there was a need for your expert guidance on when to push a button? I think not.

In your searching to find crap on your favorite member to bully, you reopened this old thread just to rag on this member about a bulletin that really had nothing to do with the OPs question, of which the people that would've read that meaningless thread for an answer previously, probably never even paid attention to it.

But your cheap facade in crusading to spread CORRECT info (in your opinion) to the rampantly misinformed forum members, thinly disguised your true intent to belittle members. Hell, many of the members there are members here. Do they suddenly turn dumb when they log on?

You weren't fooling me Ben, but I can’t choose sides, however your blanket statement of reasoning based on the Light Duty designation alone, didn’t hold water. I merely pointed out, CORRECTLY, of LD being inclusive of many trucks. I was trying to open the door for you in the discussion to elaborate more beyond just LD, and explain more about the RVC, what it does and why it’s not included with or needed on the Diesels. I new the point you were trying to make. But you didn’t get the hint! You took this as just another adversary to challenge your absolute word, which was wrong, just as wrong as your interpretation of the HD on the trucks; it is just a nameplate that owners associate with Heavy Duty. It’s just a tag, Ben. In all the brochures and in all the slang, it’s called ‘The HD’, NOT the heavy duty.

This is nothing new with the class designation on Trucks, it’s been this way in the industry for longer than you and I are years old. Anything up to and including class III trucks is a Light Duty Truck. As I said, go in, talk to any GM Fleet Sales Rep, and see. While you’re in the showroom, look at all of the brochures on trucks available. They’re nicely laid out with the cover labels for LIGHT, MEDIUM and HEAVY trucks.

I thought it was hilarious that you had made it YOUR Crusade to rag on the Tech Badge status of members as not being legit, and when you had it at the height of turmoil, overnight AutoForums kicked out badges to a whole slew of people who had applied. You were not the only one, hell overnight it looked like a badge carnival around there. The PM was sent in humor, Ben.

In closing, I haven’t seen any discussion from any members in regards to your shenanigans, and nothing’s been said in the open forums about your presence or lack of. You haven’t been discussed at all. In the mix of 20k members your inputs were just another day in the past and virtually unknown.

I just thought you were enjoying yourself, being an anonymous jerk on another site. However, I noticed your rant here and just thought 'ol Tool Shed Hook'em:D would take a chance to clear up your perception of events, and mend any hurt feelings on your end. There are many members here that are members over there also, and none behave as you do.

:D Well, HondaRider sometimes has issues. :tease: ;)

Wait a minute, let me get this straight, Ben was belittling someone, cause he called out an incorrect bulliten someone posted, but you were just "correcting" him on what the government calls a "hd" truck? Pot meet Kettle. 2 month old threads get brought up here all the time, whats the big deal? Thats what happens when people get bored. Its funny how your backing up now, on the pm about the "tech support badge" is now all of a sudden a joke, when before you were saying that Ben requested it, so which one is it? Was a warning really given to Ben? or was it not? Your stories keep changing, now it seems as your trying to belittle Ben over here, but your just looking like a fool, get your stories straight.

a tractor that was split huh.

That could mean a lot of things. There is a big difference between splitting an old IH, Super M and splitting a Fendt 933. Although i cant say weve had to split one yet up at work as they still hold up.

An allison isnt really that hard to build as long as your head isnt too big.
