I see by your sig you have had alot of experience with ATS parts on your truck and lots of other performance companies parts too.
Furthermore, when I have a truck, I will have nothing ATS on it if I can help it. I could own a duramax, I am waiting on the newest and best that is coming out in 2010 or 2011. Why buy something old? But you probably have no idea what's coming. Considering I knew about the 4.5 liter prototype since 2003. It was in the Trailblazer. :baby:
I have seen more than enough ATS failure. Look up farmboystoy on dieselplace if any of the old ATS threads are even around about the 5 mile trannies. Since then ATS has done nothing but shoot themselves in the foot.
Burkhardt is the only one that I really have respect for that runs ATS. But I think he could do so much better with other parts.
Also of the trucks I have tuned, I have seen Mike's, Merchant's, BD's, and ATS trannies. I have competed against and beat Edge, Superchips, Hypertechs, Quads, PPE's, and the rest of the bastard stacks, as well McRat tuning, Bobo tuning, Tony tuning, Crank it tuning, and Danville Tuning. I have beat some of the best on a given day including Jeff Toman and Eric Merchant. But I have also been beat many times. I have seen what works well and what works not so well. I am stupid on the Vane Turbo tuning and I suck at lighting big turbos. Hoping to take a class on it soon. LB7 is what I know.
Reguadless, I know when the time comes where I am getting a tranny from. It won't be the most convient or closest.
But there is my history about the duramax in a nut shell, and I don't hide the fact that I have never owned a truck, and right now drive Grand Am that I helped rebuild the motor in. It will still be my DD after I get a Duramax.
I am young and have a long way to go, but hopefully I can avoid all of the problems I have seen with ATS products.
Mike L. will be the man that gets my bussiness, and I recommend him to everyone who asks.
