Pulled our truck and the Freighttrain without and then with TC lifts. Tried a 3" block and it seemed better than stock but we both settled on a 2" rear blocks & liked that best. As for limiting upward travel of the front. We tried that also, We had 6" of air underneath the front tires & bent front end parts on both hooks. We couldn't get that stuff off quick enough. Just my opinion though. Air to water? Just checked my pics & that was so 2008 :roflmao: Dyno results did not confirm enough of a gain for me to screw with it. Who needs an intercooler for 300' anyway, it's only a parts catcher :D

Im probably going to stay air to air this year, as some of the associations i pull with dont allow w2a, and i dont want to change back and fourth. All the tractor puller guys ive talked to says w2a and how good it works all has to do with the size.

Troy has a few different hitches he brings with him to the pulls incase one doesnt pass. His hitch might help, but its not why the front doesnt come up.

Anybody run a cool can for the fuel & do you think it helps. I made one last year but only pulled with it once.

I had a very larger cooling setup in 2008. 50 thru 80 degree fuel, W 2 Air I/c And dynoed 12 to 41hp depending on various temps of either. I gave up but that was just me. Also tried just a Moroso cool can but thought that was even less efficient then my larger system. My big system had 4-55gt coolers in the bed. That cooled fuel, W 2 air & FICM. I even had a "radiator" mounted in front of theair filter that cooled the air before the air filter :)

Im probably going to do some fuel cooling this year, my aluminum fuel cell in the bed has to get hot in the sun making the fuel pretty warm for daytime pulls.

How did the Moroso cool can do?

I don't think so great because of the small amount of ice & the tubing isn't that much. I can't hurt though. I have one not on the truck, you want it?

I am still running the stock aluminum shaft, going on 4 years.

Me too! i pulled on mine for 3 years and knock on wood still looks fine. As long as mine is im suprised mine didn't twist up. I only pulled one year with the stock charger. The other two years were with gt4088r and dual fuelers. the last year I had 4.56 gears and a lock up switch. I know that last year was REALLY pushing the limits on axles, driveshaft

Can't belive you guys are still running the stock aluminum driveshaft, mine twisted off the second pull. Apparently my twins are ready to ship so I'm putting them on along with a Spearco intercooler. Going with the dually rear end out of the Dirty Hooker which has 4.10 gears. Just trying to decide on block height I have a Cognito 4" and was thinking about going with 4" blocks. Also going with 6 33" STS's. Was thinking about going w2a but decided not to yet. Still kind of new to all this stuff and trying to get by with doing the work inhouse so it's a learning curve. Looking forward to reading this thread for some good info.

One big thing I noticed with Wakeman's truck is between the cab and bed! This may be why the front doesn't come up a lot. Hitch setup really plays a big part in it also.

what if the front rested on something other than the factory bump stops. maybe adjustable bump stops. adjust them so that the front only just comes off of the stops, now your front is not coming up much and your not losing your hitch height.

When i look for a cool can i couldn't find anything that ran something larger then a 3/8 line so i made my own using some 1/2 aluminum tubing coiled up and a old aluminum fuel cell.

FYI The older PRE LMM aluminum drive shafts were much better than the ones in the LMM trucks. Those are pathetic at best.

Also I think 4.10's is actually easier on the driveshaft than 3.73's.

This works but just make sure you get it to come up off the stops:thumb: Usually a rough ride if it doesn't.
