Hello to all and any help appreciated! So the truck is a week new to me and 4 days of that it has been in shop. Truck had never been moded and almost 400km on it. I had cold air exhaust and chip installed. Had it on tow mode. Nothing radical. Had just left kids vball games and truck went into limp mode of sort. NO ENGINE CODES tripped. Won't Rev over 2000rpm. Can get upwards of 90km/hr but can't load up engine. All new fluids and filters including fuel filter. All injectors test within dealer specs.

Lb7 or lly? Is it blowing smoke when trying to accelerate? Does the CAI (cold air intake) have a dry filter or oiled filter? Do you have a egt gauge and boost gauge? If you do, how much boost does it make? (PPE tuner will tell boost also) What are your egt when floored? What level tune are you running?

Lb7 no smoke I believe filter is dry. No gauges sorry. It was in 2nd stage tune. Put back to stock still same issue. The mechanics are going through the regular guides of elimination. Thinking it is something small being over looked.

Try cleaning the MAF sensor. Use the ppe programmer to check that the tps is actually showing 100% throttle when floored, and that it transitions smoothly from 0-100% with the pedal.

Being as it's not smoking, it shouldn't be lack of boost. If commanded and actual fuel pressurees weren't close it should kick a CEL, but those can also be checked with the ppe.

Please keep this thread posted with progress and a solution when found.

LB7's often won't kick on CEL for low fuel pressure. Drove one a while back that acted similar, no power, no codes. But when ya looked at commanded fuel pressure vs actual, it wouldn't hold 50% requested.

Fuel pressure under WOT should be hitting 21k PSI / 150Mpa or above on the scanner. If not, you have supply, return, or regulator issues.

Fuel filter was changed just b4 I bought the truck. The shop that it's in right now has tech 2 scanner. Some great points that I'll bring forward to them. Hoping they have checked these things. It is a diesel performance shop.

Moved to LB7 section of Hard Parts.

Fuel limp or trans limp. Odd that you have no codes, though.

So the latest update I got this am that it is a failing turbo. New one ordered through BD. At same time gonna change FPR (fuel pressure regulator) while there into it that far. Everything on fuel side says and tests out even with what it should be, cp3 pump is supplying suffiecently. So fingers crossed this is the fix!

Did you actually scan for codes or just no cel?

Did you look in the turbo? How much play is there?

It had to be smoking if it wouldn't spool

No I haven't personally looked into turbo bit I've been dealing with these guys for 15 yrs and I know they wouldn't steer me wrong. I'm taking their word that it is a turbo issue. Wasn't building boost.

Just so you know.....if your not fueling enough the turbo won't make boost.

With that said, I hope the new turbo fixes it.

Non taken dude but as the first message says I'm asking for any help. It's not like I'm taking the info I get here and throwing it out the window. I'm passing on any info to the guys at the shop. You Google this problem and it seems very regular, but answers are few and far between as to what is the causes.

So any help or info is appreciated!

It's also difficult for me to do anything in my position as I'm about 3200km from home. Flew across country to get this truck. Fortunately I was spending a couple days in town visiting my kids. Day before I go to leave the engine problems started. Been stuck in a hotel room since.
