When I get on it hard and fan is engaged, I get a sound on the drivers side, feels like driver floorboard, sounds like a siren winding up with the rpm. If i lift it goes down with rpm. Then after a a few seconds when I get on it again its gone. Sometimes the fan will run and theres no noise. Only when the fan runs the noise is there.

102° degree outside temp, trans temp will be at 192°

It seems like it only happens when its very hot out...

Yea its kinda high pitched. I was almost wondering if it is the fan getting into the shroud but it doesnt do it all the time...I'll have to pop the hood and see if I notice anything lol.

It could be. I had a problem with this when I did twins on my truck. The mount I made for the turbo bolted to the bock where one of the fan shroud brackets went and it moved a little while I had the bolt out. Took a few times adjusting it till I got it totally fixed. There doesn't seem to be much clearence there:(

my truck makes the same noise... been doing it for about 25,000 miles mine sounds like a high pitched whistle and it increases with throttle.

YEa I still hear the normal loud ass fan, but then sometimes there is a high pitch noise for a bit. Then it ggoes away and the fan noise is still there.

Is it just the noise or is there any other problems? I know my fan growls like crazy as soon as I start my truck, even in the cool months.

Its intermittent. Didnt do it at all today (even know the fan was running a buch today as its over 100°F today). Then it did it just a bit ago. I noticed the trans temp was 198°F when it happened then after it went away the trans temp was 203°F

Think it has to do with the trans, thats where the sound is like it is coming from. driver side floor.
