They literally had a demolition derby where one guy ended with a concussion and a car caught on fire:roflmao: I hate to know what qualifies as dumb hillbilly stuff.

well.... i mean.... it sounded like a good idea the time.....

you should see me and my buddy play tag in the walmart parking lot using the samurais. the best was hitting the back of him in an intersection, be both get out yelling and screaming at each other for a few sec, then jump back in when the light turns green and drive away like nothing happens :roflmao:. peoples faces are priceless

Can we get back to the NHRA topic? Who cares about the show.

Can anyone confirm that these letters are legit? I see a lot of dumb chit pop up on facebook just to get crap started.

If true NHRA must have a legit reason for this.

I know around here street racing has been a huge thing cause they will not allow anyone to build a track cause to many old people cry about the noise. So people have no choice unless they want to drive 2-3 hours.

That's funny James, my buddies and I use to do that all the time growing up. We actually got a UC cop to pull us over once for leaving the scene of an accident:roflmao:

I believe the NHRA got what they wanted. It's all you see on FB. I use to watch NHRA on tv but it got boring. This is the most publicity they have gotten in a long time. I heard a NHRA event on ESPN gets about 250000 viewers and an episode of SO gets 1.5-2 million.

Its too bad that it is such a big deal to get busted racing. I would love to go out to a remote stretch of hiway on friday nights and line up.

I'd say they're real. Hot Rod got a response in the link below from NHRA about all the backlash they've got over the letters.

Hot Rod

Looks like it's over being able to see NHRA stickers and competition numbers. More or less tying them to the promotion of street racing in some form or another. Which basically contradicts what the NHRA stands for, or at least started out standing for.

Its a safety issue. Sometimes have someone tech your truck is a good thing. Plus many roads are not designed for trucks going 100+mph.

The street outlaws show is full of Midwestern hillbillies, I could barely even watch one episode.

Your sir are a Jackass, idk how people with your attitude make it threw life. At no point in this shows 4 seasons has anything "hillbilly" gone on. If you dont like the show fine, but dont mouth off uncanny accusations. You do not need to reply to this with some lame comeback, I have nothing else to say to you. Other than the fact that I am sorry for talking at you in the manor I did, however I just cannot stand when people show no respect, especially towards other diehard gear heads.

I like this show, i love cars, and most of the main cast memebers seem like pretty stand up guys. Yes almost everything on the show is fake besides the cars yada yada. I see the NHRA reaching out just to get attention like everybody else has said. If your dumb enough to illegally street race (I'm talking serious shit, not dragin your buddys powerstrokes ass) your not doing it because you got the idea off of a tv show. Its hard to blame the NHRA for what they have done here, there just trying to cover there ass.

As long as there not hurting anybody or anybodys property i say give ER' HELL.

Amen to that, he comments just to comment and has nothing pertinent to add. I'll never forget the "I would escort someone off my property with a gun for a lowball offer on a rig I was selling" comment he made a couple years ago.

So what if his comment was a little stupid. I haven't seen anybody calling you out for stupid comments, it's just his opinion as you have yours. There is a ton of threads getting mucked up with this shit all the time anymore

You comment with no information about the topic at hand just to bitch at somebody for bitching at somebody else. Excellent job :thumb:

Wasn't trying to start this I'm just tired of seeing his comments let's stay on track. I'm starting to see te NHRA stuff on Facebook now too. So did the NHRA take it upon themself to send these letters out or did someone complain or what? I'm guessing the people on this show do race at NHRA events and maybe are members would be why they got letters?

everyone is entitled to their own opinion but never have I once said any hurtful things to anyone on this forum. If you don't like what I have to say then ignore it instead of calling me names.
