No joke. John Robinson could make a race of it, not exactly a street car.

No offense to John, but MAYBE. Power wise, he probably has them covered but not by a huge margin. Traction wise though, it'd be whole new learning curve trying to get it to hook and go like it does on the strip. That's how the street outlaws beat up on the drag week guys, home turf that they run on all the time and know how to make it hook. It's apples to oranges most of the time.

EDIT: It just dawned on me we're actually discussing a diesel funny car against somewhat streetable gas cars. LOL

Oh I know, I wasn't kidding when I said he COULD make a race of it. I probably wouldn't put my money on him and he's driving one badass dragster.

Its a ok show.

Funny how they go out for a test run they have spotters they unload and load back up real quick and freak at the sight of a headlight.

Then there is race night!

You have 10 cars trailers and tow rigs ,production crew and lights ,bring the wives and kids, set up tents, they are out there for hours all relaxed! They,re a hotdog cart and a clown selling balloons away from a sanctioned event! :roflmao:

That's probably because the testing is actually illegal street racing.

I have been waiting for a diesel to call them out. I would love to see that. not saying that anyones diesel is going to hold a candle to some of these rigs but would be fun to see. But then again 4x4 boosted launch has its advantages on the street where some of the guys on this show have traction issues that a 4x4 diesel wouldnt have.

Understood but you would think the cops know who they are at this point and not even bother. :D

Look at the night with the street sweeper if that were in my town the would have impounded the sweeper the trailer and probably the tow vehicle! They'd ask one question where is your permit? :D

I know it wouldn't be good TV but sometimes I just shake my head saying really....

there "testing" 90% of the time is on the same street they race on . you can tell by all the black marks from burnouts. the difference is, the producers run a car on either side of the street to make it look legit and keep the lights off. while i dont belive the "test hits" are fake (they are definitely testing setups), how its brought about and so on is fake.

i would love to see a call out for "fastest tow rigs in the country". id be there in a heart beat :D

They literally had a demolition derby where one guy ended with a concussion and a car caught on fire:roflmao: I hate to know what qualifies as dumb hillbilly stuff.
