New update: Josh said the warranty company is going to send someone out to look at the truck. He said they are trying to argue that a 5" MBRP Straight pipe could cause the issue... Really?? I swear if they try to pull that..

That sucks man.

Well if it comes to where they won't cover it I have a built motor for sale. Would split it up and sell it as a short block. If you wanted to go that route.

I appreciate it but I'm just praying to God that it's covered and they don't just try to take my money that I paid them for the warranty.

I had an extended warranty on my truck because I planned on keeping this one stock. When I started having emission issues and took it in they said my warranty was voided because of my fass... I tried arguing but didn't get anywhere so I just chalked it up as a learning experience. I've always heard most of them aren't worth the paper they're printed on. That would be dumb as shit to turn you down for an exhaust. They should have to prove without a doubt that modification caused the failure.

Exactly. They didn't cover for my transmission hoses failing saying it was my "maintenance I should have checked them weekly and they fell off while I was towing a 20ft trailer. Lucky I was close enough I made it back to my shop. But if they want to say it's not covered I'll take them to court. They tried to say they wouldn't cover my suspension because I have a lift kit. I told them why would you not come and take a look at the truck before you issued a warranty. If anything I'm going to get my full money back from that warranty if they don't fix this. Promise that.

I agree 100%. They should have covered the Trans hoses without questioning your maintenence. What do you do to Trans lines anyways maintenence wise or am I not doing something I should be:roflmao:

Only thing I know maintenance wise is flushing the transmission fluid.

Yeah but I meant the lines. Hell you don't even flush these Trans, change the spin on, fluid, and your good to go. I don't change my internal unless I'm going into the Trans.

I don't see how they could legally void the warrant on the motor for a straight pipe though.

Yeah man well let's just pray for the best.. That's all I can do right now cause there is a truck show next week at Lone Star Throw Down I'm suppose to be be at with this IG page @Dope_ass_diesels but right now it's not looking like I'm going to make it.

Well just to update you; I just got a text from Josh H.

"The inspector was here first thing this morning. He thought the CTS monitor was a tuner, but I let him know what it was and what it did. Hopefully they treat you right. "

They have to write up his report and should give the mechanic a call back later today I would hope.

"I was getting my custom tune put on......."

Pretty sure your "extended warranty" ended there. Take them to court when you're under oath be sure and tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

Thoughts on my claim, the idiot thinks a CTS is a tuner.. Also they are saying "since it doesn't have a catalytic converter" it effects the engine.

They are trying to pull out everything so they don't have to cover it. I would ask them to try and select a tune or power level on the cts. Give them the manual so they can go through it of they want to show its not a tuner.. Idk about the cat effecting the engine statement. Like I said they're going to try everything to not have to warranty it. Kind of sucks but that's how it is.
