So a friend of mine who is a freaking genious when it comes to mathematical engineering has designed a fogger system for the duramax to be used with water/meth injection kits....

Patent Pending, 8-nozzle, single
feed, hardened alloy fog cuff for
LLY, LBZ, and LMM. Gas cooling
concept promises to provide a 65 HP
grade benefit, and fan eliminating
heat reduction using only
water…110 HP anticipated
performance benefit with methanol
mixture. Also anticipated 150-250 F
EGT reduction, 3-5 psi boost
improvement, 5-10% air flow
increase, and 140,000 BTU/hr
induction cooling.
Designed to fit LBZ and LMM
models, plus LLY vehicles with the
Induction Overhaul Kit,. 5”
diameter. Will be available anodized in different colors. Price includes 8 fog nozzles
with various flow rates available

He posted drawings of that on here over a year ago. Injecting water preturbo is hard on the wheel. Can you say erosion! Tractor guys do it to billet wheels and they still wear. Anything that hits the wheel, hits it hard as edge speeds can easily exceed the speed of sound.

Dunno. Seems like a turbo impeller going 100,000 RPM will pretty much atomize the water even if it was just a stream. Perhaps makes more sense to have it after the turbo.

When I was testing the Snow system on a dyno, no HP gain was seen, and 150? deg drop in EGT's. Power comes from the alcohol.

Looks cool though.

I've sprayed water pre-turbo, and didn't see any problems. And I've sprayed post-turbo as well. The intent of the water is to cool the air. The hotter the air is, the more cooling effect is possible. My current thought is to let the intercooler do it's job first, then spray water to cool the air further.

I'm still not sure it really has the effect I think it does. Even with lower EGT's on the gauge, I've still hurt turbines with the water on, and melted pistons.

Looks like the nozzles thread together. Do they get peened or something? Not sure I like the idea of parts that could fall off and get sucked into the turbo:confused:

I remember it too. IIRC, the pre-turbo trick as said it "Fog". Much finer droplets. Likly it would cool better too? My only concern, what if a fog nozzle came loose and this is pre-turbo  = big boom!

But it theres no way they could come out, i'd try it:D Very nicly made part!

Ahhh, Paul beat me to it!

How would it create more boost ?

It would make the air more dense and result in more boost, but I don't understand how this would work with a vvt turbo.....wouldnt the vanes just open more to limit the boost:confused:

not sure bout the vvt turbo but when installing mine post turbo and post intercooler i noticed around a five psi jump in my boost pressure like previously stated denser air either way...

So is killerbee the original poster or the "mathematical engineering genius friend"?

I can make up a bunch of numbers to sell a product I'm marketing as well...

I'd like to see an honest to god dyno sheet of this system and some field testing. But if he wants a guinea pig-I'm in. I need a new turbo anyhow!!:D

I was snooping around at DP as there is lots of water/meth info there and found a dyno sheet with 50/50 mix that lotsofmiles did-quite impressive.

Water alone likely won't make power from what I have read and researched, but it will cool things off-which is what I would be more interested in. But with the meth, the numbers are surprisingly impressive IMO.
