Hey guys, a few days ago I purchased an 03 2500 dmax w/ 247,xxx miles. I want this truck to do all my towing and more than anything a reliable daily driver. It will probably never see over 5k lbs as all I tow is boats. Anyways I purchased the truck knowing it needed injectors...light hazing at idle... When I get back in town I will be ordering injectors... I feel pretty confident I can do it myself.... I run a boat repair shop and I just can't see how people are paying 4-6k for injectors and labor... I've budgeted about 2k for the injectors and will be doing the swap myself. Is that reasonable for finding a good set?
Also this truck has a K&N air intake and I think a 5" exhaust, and likely a tune on it now... However the dealership had no idea what tune it was, or the software to remove it... Anyway I can return the truck to stock easily? The truck will throw a little black smoke at hard acceleration and it feels much faster than my buddies 03 dmax... I just don't wanna risk a tranny replacement and would honestly rather leave it stock if I can. Other than a small power steering leak and the injectors issue (which I'm getting to) the truck runs great...
Absolutely no blow by.

Buy quality Bosch injectors. LDS on here is a great source for them.

Any dealership can flash it back to stock. Or someone with EFI can also.

Could I order a tuner that displays valuable information such as injector balance rates, etc, and then use that to flash my truck back to stock... Then just not use any of the tunes that come with it? The only thing I am afraid of is that with the exhaust and intake and tune it might have an egr delete and I would needs the tune to take the CEL off... There is no CEL on now but how do I check to see if the EGR is deleted?

Being an 03 LB7, as long as itis a federal emissions truck, not a CA one, I don't think it ever would have had EGR.

Okay thanks guys... I don't have the truck in front of me but there is two other things I noticed
1) when changing the fuel filter I noticed the sensor on the bottom was broke... It was not plugged into the harness and I think the connector part is broke. Replace the sensor? What does it measure water in the fuel filter?
2) i noticed a sensors on the alternator bracket that is not plugged up. I think it's the PCV valve... I didn't see wires to plug into it... Thoughts?

WIF plug has to be the most point less thing imo. I got bad fuel once and it never went off and I had to drain the filter daily for 3 days until I got home and dropped the tank and cleaned it out...so I put a billet plug in and called it a day, put a lift pump on and drain that every fill up.

Maybe somebody can answer the 2nd part but I for the life of me am drawing a blank on that one

Edge insight won't flash your truck but it can monitor everything you want.

Do like Brock says and ditch the wif sensor fo a billet plug, get a billet bleeder screw while your at it.

Can you post a pic of the plug in that your concerned about?

It may just be the tuning, but can someone tell me how to reset the trans memory so it will adapt to my driving. I don't like how it shifts sometimes.

On the test drive 4wd worked fine. Then when I got home I tried it out and it showed it was in 4wd however it was not... It also would not come out of 4wd. The check engine light popped on and here's what I got

Also the ABS light is on... Any ideas? I cleared the check engine light and it is now off... However the ABS light remains on... Any ideas?

C00040- Rf wheel speed sensor circuit
c0201- ABS enable relay contact
u1000- class 2 data link. (Bad ground maybe)
B0090- LF seat belt sensor
p0836- 4wd switch circuit
p0700- tcm requested cel to be set.

With that said I'd start with the rf wheel speed sensor and go from there.

Probably bad hubs.

Also what did you scan it with? Get a better scanner on it and get the rest of the 0700 codes. Don't clear anything.

Do you guys think that a PPE boost increase valve is okay for the stock transmission?
I plan on ordering an edge insight and not running a tune. Just using it to monitor

Will the cs2 check injector balance rate or do I need the cts2?
