Awsome!!! I've been looking for a rail that will fit the budget but still cert. too. I've found a few, but they are all out of state. Its nice to see that there will be a few more around.

I have found two rails a few miles from here. One is $7,500 and other is $6,000. They are hard tails cert. @ 6.50. I don't know much about them. After we figure out which will work for duramax I will buy one. It will take me a few years to get finished.

Nice, Jeff. :thumb:I am looking at two differant rails. I am also still looking for a salvage lbz truck for motor and wiring. My neighbor said he will build me a powerglide with trans brake and lockup Hughs convertor for under 4K. They have used these trannies on 3000 hp gassers. Good luck, and hope to see it run soon.

Do you know if Hughes make a lock up converter for diesels

I know the xp5 glide has a lockup converter, I believe the stall is made to order. It looks like an awesome tranny. The 8k price tag puts it out of many peoples price range (including mine)..

:thumb::thumb::thumb: The beauty of a rail is you don't need to run the motor on the edge to make plenty of HP. Getting it to hook and go seems to be as much or more important. The NX Dragster runs a power glide and you can tell by listening to it and watching it run down the track that the engine is not being worked that hard. Would be nice to wrench on a race vehicle less often and actually be able to get to everything easily when you do.:D

It will be a glide. It won't have a lockup at first. I'm hoping I can get it close without it. That's the only part that i'm worried about. I just don't have 10k to put into a tranny. If I give up a little i'm cool with that. I'm not worried about setting any "wades" I just want to go rounds and race. If I can do like this year and race smart, qualify on the good side of the ladder and go a few rounds I will be happy. Thanks everyone Jeff
