Mike, do you know if the new trans still uses PWM style shift solonoids or have they gone to ones more simliar to those like a 4L60E/4L80E style? From the sounds of the PWM PCS circuit it sounds like they are trying to make it more like the trans that GM produces. If so this may make it possible for a PCS controller to be used on the new trans whereas the older ALLISON 1000's required too complicate of a shifting logic. IF the PCS controller could be used I would think this would be a HUGE step forward for those using the ALLISON in racing applictaions to have a truly adjusteable TCM with more control of how and when it shifts.

Allison never used PWM shift solenoids. PWM is only used for the trim solenoids and the F trim TCC solenoid.

Except for the A and B trim solenoids, the rest of the solenoids are from the 4T65E and 4T 40E front drive transmissions built by GM.

I thought they were PWM because that is why PCS kept saying they couldn't get there controller to work when I called them. Thanks for clearing that up. I was just wondering if maybe the new design would allow the ALLISON to now be controlled by a reasoneably priced programmeable standalone controller for the racing guys. Would also open up alot of possibilities for the aftermarket with swaps.
