My thoughts is take the SC on the first engine and combine it to feed the twins on the second. This is the best set-up IMO.

Needs more CI on the rotor.

I asked Matt about that, and it seems this charger puts out very large amounts of air for it's size. The overdrive is to produce large amount of boost at (or just off) idle. At some point the turbos take over.

Let me guess.... If I want to buy one will anyone return a pm or phone call, hmmm.... Most likely too busy posting jokes to do actual business with potential customers. This is one of the dumbest statements I've seen in here in a while.
I'll wait 'till Jeg's or Summit starts selling them, until then no one will get their hands on one. I haven't seen or heard of any Banks Duramax engines in anything but Bank's stuff yet. So I'll believe the hype when these are on the road or in the water, until then I'm skeptical they even exist.

So you're whinning about what exactly? That we're showing our prototype engines at the show? We have had our engines for sale for some time, but they aren't cheap. So far nobodys wanted to pony up the cash.

are those fluidamprs that Im seeing?

I know the race shop guys have experimented with both the fluidamper and the ATI pieces. Don't know which one they finally settled on.

The object with the super/turbo on the marine engine was NOT to compound the boost pressure but to widen the power band at the very low end. The SC leads it off and the turbos take over. The target is 600hp+ at a 3800rpm redline. Remember that's going to be a PRODUCTION marine engine. The street strip engine however we will build anyway the customer wants.

Don't suppose there is any information about what pistons or fuel injectors are being used in these engines? With the problems the big horsepower guys are having, I am wondering how will the ~1000 HP engine hold up? Obviously, Banks does do quite a bit of testing, so they must have made some changes .... just curious if any of them are available to the rest of the Duramax world, or if they were made by / for Banks.

So if I call up there right now, can I order the marine engine?

Well since he said they are "prototype engines" I would say no not yet.

He said production as well... I just want to know if I can get one. If I can't get an answer in the next few days, a merc 1075 is going in its place.

Wade, I wouldn't be surprised if that engine costs 40,000$

merc 1075 costs more than that, so if I can get a price I just might.

EDIT: Ahh hell who am I kidding. I'm not going to work on the boat any time soon.

On second thought, wouldn't it be easier/cheaper to buy a box of grenades, and throw them under the hood?? Why does hot rodding have to be so damn expensive:rofl::D

I'll know more when the actual production engines are ready.

So nice to need a real reason to run a 4 inch cowl on a Dmax....dreams...;)

The super/turbo engine would need one but that engine will redline around 3800rpm or so. Remember it's a boat engine. Now the second engine will fit in a truck no problem and red line to 6K.

You can, but you had better have a water cooled credit card seeing as these are hand built prototype engines. The full production engines won't cost as much, better to wait till then.

Depends on how much money you have burning a hole in your pocket:D

This will have the same foot print as the 1075.

The price will be in the same range. Course none of those diesel engines are really "inexpensive".
