Thanks. I will start down that path once I get it running. I didn't put gas in it for sure and diesel is what is coming out of the fuel filter I will check on Eli live as well

Surprised though no one has said an possibles reasons being the fuel pressure regulator

can you crack an injector line loose and see if you have fuel coming out when cranking?
dont be anywhere near the engine when you do this
Don't do it at all, in my opinion.

The high pressure fuel system on these trucks is nothing like the old ones. Cracking a line can cause all sorts of problems, and if you get near it, you can get diesel injected straight through your skin, which can be nasty.

A much better (and safer) way to check the high-pressure fuel system operation is to read the rail pressure sensor through the diagnostic port. Many tuners can do this, including EFI Live.

X2. Dont do it at all. I've seen what 3000 psi can do to a person. Too dangerous IMO.

Actually you need to make for sure your getting at least 1500 psi for the truck to start to engauge the injectors if im not mistaken.you might get some fluid out if you crack a line but all thethats going to tell you is if you have some fuel it wont tell you if you have the correct psi needed to start.

Id just read it thru the diagnostic port if it were me.

Do you have fuel to the rail or not.
I have cracked lines plenty, never do it while running, but if the truck sits crack it open a good bit and have a helper crank it. Is the fuel that runs out at about 10 psi clear and clean or foamy.
