The chevy isnt bad I guess, it will grow on me, I think the "LTZ" badge on the grille is cheesy.

I love the new GMC.

Interior I like, except on the driver side of the upper instrument panel where the headlight control and trailer brake controls are.....it looks really goofy, like the designers had a bunch of extra space that they had no idea what to do with.

One thing I think a lot of people will love though, is you can now get an SLT (complete with heated 10 way power seats, and all the other SLT gadgets) with a spli-bench seat!!! You no longer HAVE to get the front center console if you want heated seats and all that stuff. And you can get heated seats with CLOTH now. The center console is still available though, of course.

Lots of ultra-high strength steel in the roof rails, A-pillars, B-pillars, and roof. Which should help a lot with rollover protection, which has generally been one area where full-size pickups need some work.

Looks like they did the dodge thing, no more "suicide doors" for the extended cabs. I dont think anyone will miss the old doors though; better protection in side impact and easier access to the rear seat without having to open the front door.

Im interested to see what the new V6 is. Yes, its a 4.3, but it shares nothing with the "traditional" 4.3 that we've known for the past 30 (??) years.

My guess is the new 4.3 will basically be an LS1 with 2 cylinders lopped off. (because if you cut 2 cylinders off of a 5.7 liter displacement V8 engine, you're left with a 4.3 liter V6)

Yeah i really like the GMC, and the projector headlights are nice. The chevy front end is too square and bulky for me.

Interior does looks tits, and cloth with seat heaters is amazing..

Are all the differences purely cosmetic?

From the previous body style? Or between the 2014 GMC and Chevy?

2014 has completely different drivetrains, based off the new LTx generation of engines (announced a few months ago for the C7).

In addition to what Ben pointed out, things I see are aluminum blocks, electric power steering pumps and "available with a 110-volt outlet, up to five USB ports, four 12-volt outlets and an SD card slot".

I don't care for the Chevy at all the grille is really tacky and looks like those 88-98 chrome eBay grilles. The gauge panel is really literally identical to a f-series one I wish I wasn't on my phone so I could post side x sides. I do think the GMC is okay but it does look an awful lot like a terrain and a superduty had sex. GM took way to many cues from dodge and ford for this to be anything original sad to say.

I think they did a great job on both. The GMC is definetely the better looking of the two, but again awesome job on both. IMO.

I really want to see the HD's.

I agree. I thought of the F-350 Tonka concept when I saw the GMC. But that doesnt mean I dont love how it looks...

and yeah, the clusters are similar, but if you think about it, in order to fit the stuff that GM needed to fit (6 analog gauges, and a big LCD driver info center, and fit into the same physical space in the instrument panel), there arent many configurations that are going to allow the whole thing to work. So its natural that the GM cluster looks like the ford.

And at least GM still has real actual NUMBERS on the volt/oil pressure/coolant temp gauges!!! Ford hasnt had numbers on their gauges for probably the past 25 years.

Anyone else notice the 140mph speedometer, lolz.

Styling cues, I dont think GM wanted to be TOO far out...I think they purposely wanted to stay conservative. Where they wanted to set themselves apart is with truck capabilities/handling/specs and features.

I'm not impressed with the room in the back seat. They're still way behind both Ford and Dodge in that department. It looks like the smaller Dodge has as much or more room than the GM crew cab.

I'll wait and see it in person right now the interior looks cheesy at best. Exterior not the worse I've seen.

Will there be 2014? I thought most of us will be dead by the end of next week.

11.5:1 compression ratio for the 6.2L. A typical small block 350 would need 110 octane to run that. Amazing how far technology has come.

Those things are hidious! Agree with mackin on the hd at.

well hey guess what I think silver trucks are hideous! :p:

as for your opinion on the overall exterior looks of the K2XX trucks..............

thats exactly what everyone said in 1999 when the GMT-800's were released. "OMG GROSS ITS NOT BOXY AND CLASSIC"

thats exactly what everyone said in 2003 when the GMT-800 MCE was released "OMG EWWW IT LOOKS LIKE AN ANGRY CHINA MAN"

thats exactly what everyone said in 2006 when the GMT-900's were released. "OMG EWWW ITS ALL ROUNDED AND BUBBLY LOOKING"

But they certainly seemed to sell a crapload of all of them!!! Which is all that matters.

These trucks are functionally better in every way. Looks are subjective, if you think a car MFG is gonna be able to design a vehicle that 6 billion (or however many people there are on earth) people think looks great, you are crazy.

They are going to blow the GMT-900's out of the water in every performance/strength/capability aspect. Which is what actually matters, when it comes down to beating Ford/Dodge. Looks are subjective. Real-world numbers/spec-sheets arent.

JMO.
