So its yet another lb7 bad injector story. Had 3 rates go bad over the past month, one -6, one -8, and one float between +6 - +15. So 3 bad is what I'm leaning towards. So I have 3 options
#1. As per exergy's website IF only 3 are trashed I can get 3 new ones and have the whole set rehoned and balanced for $2400 plus the gasket and seal set.

#2. Complete new set of 40% overs for $3400 plus gasket and seal set.

#3. Run it til it eats the piston and swap in an lly or lbz for roughly $5000.

What would you do?

Go to your local gm dealership and pick up a bottle of upper cylinder cleaner (19.95)and clean them.be prepared to change your oil afterwards,it really cleans the shit out of everything and some ends up in the oil.Unplug your lift pump so it doesnt run disconnect the furl supply and return lines just above the drivers side rear valve cover.pour the cylinder cleaner in a 1 or 2 gal jug and top off with fresh dieselhook rubber lines with hose clamps on the supply and return lines and put the other 2 ends in the gas can, probably going to need 2 5 ft lenghts of hose start it up and let it idle for a an hour or 2.Then check them and tell me what you think of that cleaner.its some very good stuff.

Already did that last Friday night with no change :( what's confusing me is there is absolutely no haze at all

I have one and/or maybe both of these issues at hand. I refuse to check balance rates or compression. Not ready for the reality check, no way :spit:

How long you planning on keeping it? If it is long enough to replace another set of injectors after this one then LBZ swap it. If you'll only have it another 75K miles then just throw another set of sticks in.

Check compression:(
Yeah, that has crossed my mind a lot :( I honestly would rather have low compression in a cylinder and just keep driving it while gathering parts for a build
replace the motor with an lbz youll be alot happier!!!:thumb:

That's what I'm leaning towards. I refuse to spend money on anothr lb7 and I've almost decided not to buy another set of injectors for one as well.

kspent, in all honesty i think you should just dump some coin on "new"bosch exergy injectors and be happy. the prob most of the time is that people buy cheap remans and end up down the same path again with bad injectors.

but then again and lbz will make you happy
