I'm not heartless, I grew up on a farm, and worked many jobs where animals were the source of income. Profit and loss steer my decisions when it comes to animals. I just wish it made my decisions with my truck.

Here's the thing - there's a HUGE difference between a pet and farm animals that are raised for food or wild animals - I have NO problem killing deer, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, coons, groundhogs, geese, ducks, etc - these are not pets or 'family', but I could no more kill one of my cats than I could my daughter. Our cats are like our children, and we won't just 'throw them away'. PETS should not be considered disposable. If one doesn't want to treat pets as they would family, they probably shouldn't choose to adopt them in the first place. I have lost three cats, the first of which I chose to put to sleep and it was the worst, hardest thing I have ever done. Something I would much rather not repeat. The last two died peacefully on their own terms in the comfort of their home. But then this is my opinion, so maybe it's worth what you paid for it .
