I have a gmc 4500 06 lly that cranks and no start. I pulled the filter and the wif sensor and bottom of filter was packed full of rust.... I cleaned the wif and put new filter on and nothing. When I pump the filter head it gets hard then looses pressure and gets soft. The highest rail pressure I can get is 700 psi. I clamped the return line and I still can't build pressure. Any ideas? I'm hitting my head against the wall right now. Thabks

Also it will build the pressure when I prime the filter head. If I don't pump the filter was it won't go over 200 psi but when primed till hard it goes to near 800psi

Got it running.... I released the fuel pressure check valve and primed the shot out of it and it started, I'm guessing the customer ran it out of fuel especially judging by the deposits in the filter.

good you got it running. :woott:

change the filter out again in a couple hundred miles... if it was run out of fuel; junk will be coming thru for a while..... keep him in your back pocket for a few months and checking in on him...... if the CP3 was run dry for too long, you'll be replacing that next......

Ok thanks. I'll tell the customer. It only has 81k on the odometer but hopefully nothing else goes bad lol
