Your talking about the "delaminated clutches" issue that was years and years ago. ATS is way more advanced now and no its not BS. ATS will in fact warrenty clutches, i have seen it done personaly. As for your situation with them i was not there and cannot comment on it. I had a bad valve body one time and instead of tearing the VB off and giving me a new one they dropped the whole trans, stuffed a new one in and sent me on my way.

Again, talking about old clutches from years ago.

Like i said, It was installed correctly. I was there and witnessed it. I even double checked it a second time. So what does that leave for a conclusion? ATS will be in contact with guy and yes ATS is going to re-bearing the whole bottom end and fix any other issues:D

Again, like i already stated. I just wanted to know what Suncoast was doing for him (if there was part failure it needs to be warrentied)and look at what happens....This forum turns it into a ATS attack. I dont want to argue over this dumb BS anymore!

Again
Why don't you worry about your truck that doeasn't work and let me worry about the posters problem. If you had the knowledge to answer tech questions you would have built your own engine and trans; but you didn't cause you can't. Instead you act like the ATS ACLU. Get back to us when you can drive the truckaround the block without being followed by a flatbed.

You can worry about the posters broke Suncoast all you want cause thats all you will do. You wont help warrenty anything so why does it even matter? I was there for most of my build, i picked a shop that does good work and manufactures parts, not just installes others and claims them to be theres.

Again, all i asked is what Suncoast was going to do for him and look.......

Guys I think the issue was the builder failed to pay close enough attention to detail. I am in no way bashing Suncoast the clutches burnt up because of other issues. I have been making about 475rwhp for over a year, I will post exactly what my issues were tomorrow when I go back to the trans shop. Thank god I have a parts 5 speed to rob the C2 hub out of, I have a feeling it would be BIG money for a new one.

Sorry about the off topic. I was just asking you a simple question. Good luck with your trans.

Suncoast will warrenty parts that are installed by one of there authorized dealers from what ive seen and if the parts failed from poor install then I doubt it.

Does that answer your simple question?

And why should he? He didn't build it.

Not sure what the problem/problems were yet, I am off to the trans shop today to drop off parts I will get the scoop on what went wrong. probably something small that caused this disaster, thats why I said, let the transmission guys build transmissions. its not a straight foward job and there are lots of little things that can screw your trans up.

Ok, here it goes........the C3 apply piston was in wrong, the vent hole was at about 3 o'clock when its supposed to be at 12???? The previous times it went bad it was the C2 clutches and they have been replaced 3 times now, well they have chewed up the C2 hub and guess what..........it smoked them too......WTF!!! I'm so sick of this trans, hopefully this time its good for a long time. I am waiting for steels builder already had the clutches but had to order steels, should have it back end of the week.

Don't post such stuff unless you are ready to break out your personal wallet to rectify such situations. Just post your own experiences with warranty, and don't guarantee anything unless you are prepared to honor it.

So whos wallet should open up for my converter? I was assuming me after Sun Coast basically said FU to me....

Not mine. I've never said anything about Suncoast warranty policy, nor do I sell trans stuff, I'm a consumer. I've bought built transmissions for 4 trucks so far, and have used various parts including ATS, Suncoast, TTS, Transgo, Precision, etc.

However, if you are an ATS dealer and want to jump into a Suncoast trouble thread and promise folk you can get 100% warranty on clutch issues from ATS, you should be prepared to honor that warranty if ATS won't.

And that is my point, it has nothing to do with transmissions specifically, and everything to do with salesmanship and making promises to customers.

I don't want Suncoast dealers stepping into ATS trouble threads making promises, nor vice versa. There are dozens of boards who do not mind that. This isn't one of them.

The vent hole is fine at 3 o'clock--it might have been installed at 12 but the pistons don't stay in that position they kind of work there way around. Additionally I've torn down many core transmisisons and I don't think I've ever found one where the piston was right at high noon.

Third set of C2s--what do you do with this truck? That's a 4th and 5th gear clutch you're destroying, I'll bet the C3s are also gone. Do you know for sure that all the Transgo mods were done the the C2 clutch (piston & return springs) during the initial install?

I've fixed some units that were supposed to have SC kits installed only to find that someone FORGOT??? to install all the parts provided in the kit. Some builders might not be equipped to disassemble the C1/C2 clutch drum and skip the mods.

Third set of clutches--I doubt if Suncoast or even ATS would warranty these. There's either a problem with the initial rebuild or your right foot. Find out what steels have to be ordered, and where there coming from--just might be stock replacement parts--not that there bad--just be leary of what you're getting. Good luck!

Yeah I'm not sure what was done or not done, I am having the whole trans gone through now by a trans shop. He has a few Allisons out there that are holding big power so hopefully he can get mine straightened out.

Yeah I agree with you I never expected SC to warranty my clutches, it is no doubt an issue with the install, the guy is ordering Koleen steels and using Alto Red Eagle Clutches. I hope to have it back this week.

I will bet that the complete Transgo kit was not installed or installed wrong. I would strip the front drum down and inspect the C2 piston and springs. Chances are you will find a problem there.

What kind of tools or special tools are needed to do this correctly?
