I built a transfercase brace yesterday. Its not as pretty as the SC one but it cost me $10 and is really strong. Those brackets are hard to measure with the trans and case in the truck still. One day if I get bored I might box the open ends in.

Thanks guys. If I had a jig it'd have been real easy. I might make another if I have enough material

Well see. I dont race it anymore but the brace has no twist in it. The one I built today is even better

Did you make it a tad shorter so it has some tension on it when the bolts are tightened? I remember my Suncoast one was this way don't remember how much shorter it was maybe .030-.060"

Yes you have to thread the bolts by hand all the way around then tighten them. Mine was more just in case the metal stretches out a bit

Looks don't matter as long as it holds, but if it breaks well...

If the sc brace won't break this one won't. It actually turned out good for using a hand drill and a grinder. I'm pretty confident the welds won't fail. The welds on my old traction bars held up but look terrible compared to these and the guys that did them were certified

Looks good! Be careful that you don't get your head bitten off by the Suncoast junkies.;)

See alot of people would say their own is better. Mine is not tested I am not an accomplished fabricator but it's cheap and I help people when I can
