My intercooler cores I get locally from my friends machine shop that makes radiators and gets the cores pretty cheap.. now these o rings in the block aren't like what you guys are thinking, the heads don't have a groove machined in them like what some other guys do. Just the block.

Yea i know how fire ringing works. I work at Haisley Machine. We machine fire rings in just heads all the time. And we can do them in just the blocks if that's what the customer wants. But I just didn't think that a FIRERING would work good on an aluminum head. Is this O-Ringed? Machine thin, .020 grove in the block, press in steel wire and use stock gasket?

It's all good man. I figured it was an O-ring instead of a fire ring. But the groove looked kinda big that's why I asked if it was Fire ringed. Fire rings use a modified stock gasket and have a think diameter steel wire. But it shouldn't work in the aluminum heads. The steel wire would screw up the head.
