I can't believe they pay me for this. I've been in a course to train people to do fast roping, rappeling, and SPIE rigging out of helicopters for the last 2 weeks. I only have one picture for now, but more will follow soon! This one is fast roping from about 100ft off of the loading ranp of the helicopter.:D Semper Fi!

What is your job (not sure what the Marines call it, MOS maybe)? I turned down my bonus to get out and go to school.

0231: Intel Analyst...no reason to turn down 90k and job security for 4 more years in my mind...but then again I have no real skills that are applicable outside without doing my 4 more years or getting a bachelors...since the only decent paying jobs as an analyst in the civilian world require 9+ yrs exp or a bachelors...figured this was the better way to go...

The job I had in the Air Force has limited application in the real world (EOD Tech), but I got out to go on to something else. I wanted to do something I was really interested in, so now I'm pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree. I did enjoy my job and time in the service. I did a lot of cool things and had a lot of once in a lifetime experiences; I just got tired of the military life. I will say if it wasn't for the GI Bill, I'm not sure how I would be able to do what I am now; if I didn't have it, I can't imagine the debt I would be in when I finish.

Similar story here. I get paid to stay in shape and blow stuff up. I see no problem with this! 0351 Infantry assaultman and 0352 Anti-tank guided missileman.

I went to Air Asault school back in the day (2002). Once I graduated I never roped out of helicopter again. I didn't even put the wings on my uniform LOL. I had them for my class-a's but that's it. I had a good time but that 3 mile run at the end was a killer. Good thing I was in shape back then. I got tired of the military life also. Glad I got out and moved on but it was great time while I was in.
