Come on Josh! Everyone wants to be a migrant ordnance picker! Actually teaching the Afghani EOD school seems to be a pretty good gig. I have no idea what I'm going to do in six years when I retire.

The job I had in the Air Force has limited application in the real world (EOD Tech), but I got out to go on to something else. I wanted to do something I was really interested in, so now I'm pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree. I did enjoy my job and time in the service. I did a lot of cool things and had a lot of once in a lifetime experiences; I just got tired of the military life. I will say if it wasn't for the GI Bill, I'm not sure how I would be able to do what I am now; if I didn't have it, I can't imagine the debt I would be in when I finish.

Based on some of the stuff they come up with for IED's it's a wonder they need training from anyone...

First off thanks for your service and Semper Fi

Where are you stationed ?

I got off active duty 21 years ago and wish every day i would have staid in .

I regret when i got out not going to MPS shipping.

I was a 2145 tank Mech served at TBS Quantico Then went to OKI camp Kinser as fourth ecleon maitenance And Korea for Team Spirit . I was always on some dog and pony duty, except in Korea .

At Quantico despite TBS nickname of take back strips I really enjoyed all the field time and various training in a variety of other MOS's. Thanks for the pics brought back memories of many good times and fond memories.

Jacobs Ladder.....gotta love it.

I had a blast at Air Assault school...but I was an old man when I went through. I was 36. Then again I didn't go to jump school until I was 33.....that's friggin' ancient in that business.

I got to go SPIE rigging under a 46 over in Okinawa - definitely something I will never forget. I worked on the engines from them for 5 years so occasionally when they needed people for training ops they would call our shop to ask for volunteers.

Thanks for you service to all.

Quick question how high off the ground are you when attached to the SPIE rig?

I've heard some very bad stories about the pilot's running people into the tree's and stuff like that. I don't think i'd take my chances. It would be a lot of fun though!!

I definitely heard those stories too and there were an awful lot of power lines around that LZ. Haha fortunately we didn't have any wiley coyote moments. We did get some good pilots.

Semper Fi brother! I'm stationed on Pendleton now. But I was also stationed at Quantico/TBS as a combat instructor, and at LeJeune before that.

Thank you for your support. We were only a few hundred feet off the ground for the spie rigging. The rappels were about 150ft give or take, and the fast ropes were 75ft-ish.
