I suppose Ill join the cool guy club and start a build thread for the slowest build ever...

So earlier this year I sold my white ext. cab LLY. After a long time of searching I found the truck Ive always wanted.

2006 GMC LBZ, 120k miles with every option. Sunroof, DVD, clearance lights, factory tows. White with light gray leather. Its a super clean truck inside and out. Previous owner already had it tuned as well as the EGR blocked off.

Here is how I recieved the truck on 09/23/2015.

My plans for the truck is a clean white/chrome exterior theme like the previous truck.

I also planned on doing a single S400 setup like my previous truck. So I kept my Profab goodies for the install. I also have a few more parts stashed for the build.

First thing I physically did to the truck was raise the bumper and convert the new clear signal housings into Park/Turn lights. I also pulled the lenses off the factory headlights and removed the amber reflectors. Then sealed them back up with some silicon to be fog free.
I also took the grampa bugflector and bed rails off while I was at it.

IOWA LLY

Yes, its really me

I know someone over on DF did a write up on a bumper lift. I believe be had a gmc as well but a few guys did them on their chevy as well. I think you have to notch a spot on 2 of the brackets but can't remember off the top of my head.

Fine job on yours that came out nice and straight. Looks really clean. I dig the truck

IMO it's easiest to get a 1500 grille vs cutting the 2500 style. But I've cut both of mine to just cut back on cost.

Another thing I did was decide to shave the bed rail stake pockets as well as the tailgate protector holes. Made some slick patches for the rails and just welded up the nutsert holes.

All painted up. Looks like it should from the factory.

I'm all about little touches that no one would notice until closer inspection.

Bring this thread full circle to where the truck currently sits.

Color matched mirrors, bumper plastics, escalade handles. Clear cab lights with white LEDs to match everything else in the front end. I also have a 01 HD hood I'll cut to fit. That will sum up everything that will be Painted then I can concentrate on the turbo and trans.

I'm not a photographer and I only have a iPhone so sorry for the shitty pics.

Trying to sort through a few parts in the garage and I have a few parts from my last s400 oil line kit.

Problem #1 is that my drain line is kinked, however that can be sorted out at the local hydraulic shop.

Problem #2 is that I let the -10 adapter go with my 475 that I sold last year. So Im thinking a logical decision would be to pickup a drain kit from Merchant that will come with a new billet 90 degree block, -10 Turbo adapter, both gaskets as well as a brand new braided hose.

I like Jasons stuff. Very nice looking tanks as well. Im not a fan of aftermarket scoop style hoods on the classic bodies to be honest. I really like the 06 HD hoods as they are. Less is more I always say.

Place here in NC called Calico Coatings.

What made you not run a weighted plate?

Truck never pulls anything. Most it ever will pull is a small car on a trailer. Not enough to need over a 26,000LB tag.
