Did soft lines for the trans this weekend no pics yet cause it was cold.
Gotta do a diff seal this week and then chase a powersteering leak down as well.

Find the differential seal package that has a sleeve for the yoke pinion with it, you may find the old yoke sleeve has a groove worn in it. Read about a member on one site that replaced two seals until he found this kit, I'll search for it today and post it if I find it.

The part number for a new yoke with the dampener is #12471499 on Nalley GMC for about $160.00 plus shipping, let us know if the rubber in the dampener is good shape considering the age of these trucks, well at least my 2006 where the rubber isolator in the driveshaft carrier bearing was shot at 37K when I purchased it a year and half ago. No seat of the pants vibration just the mirrors vibrating/shaking to the point of being hypnotic if you looked to long.

Found it..

Thanks for the advice however this is the front differential where the cv axle exits the diff.
I'm not even doing it myself, I just don't have the time this winter and don't want to wait til spring.

Anyone ever rebuild at np261 tcase? Fluid is mine is coming out "graphitey", or glittery.
Looks like some kind of bearing or planetary took a shit.
Ordered a bearing and seal kit, and a magnetic drain plug. Hopefully it's nothing major.

Well these guys showed up today.

Othernews, Trans is getting built on Monday at Husker Diesel.

Tempted to just have them mess with the transfer case and save myself the trouble.

Well quick update. Trucks been at Husker Diesel since Monday morning.
Trans is getting built.
My old tcase was grenaded as well, so gm reman is going in.
And a front diff output seal is getting done.
Can't wait to get it back, although it's gonna cost alot more than I expected. Seems like that's a reoccurring thing with this hobby
