okay. so pound It out from the inside of the case? Then the new one goes in from the outside. You have to point the rear half down and pound the old seal out. Clean up the mating surface to make sure everything is good.
Then stand the rear half on bench/table with the end pointing up so you can install the new seal. I make special tool for doing this so I wouldn't damage the seal and make my life easier, haha :thumb:. It takes me about 5 - 10 minutes with that tool.
I hope that makes cents.
If you have access to dry ice you could put the seal in that so it shrink down a little. That way it should install easier. I would do this as a last resort though.
If you want any specs on that tool or want to borrow it let me know.

I'm assuming the bushing comes out the tail section as well
Don't really mind the looks just want healthy angles for launching. I'm assuming dead level should be good. All depends on stance you want. If they are level and the rear is stock height, you will have a hell of a rake. If you put 3" drop shackles on the back, then you can adjust the front until the truck sits level. The have some angle from the factory though.
two days ago i drove her 80 miles to check out some recently hail damaged vehicles, got home, went back out started her, backed down the driveway and she died. would just crank on end. so after numerous calls to ne-max ,one rebuilt filter housing, and some more help from ne-max we got her running again.
Found the kit at NAPA! Rebuilding it.
Yeah I asked em for a filter head rebuild kit. They sell a o ring kit for the filter head at NAPA. Was if list as a Dmax filter head rebuild kit or what?
I need a new one for the hand pump after my rebuild its leaking now I think...
Definetly am gonna pick up those books.I noticed you were thinking about doing your own Allison transmission build and I am preparing to do mine as well. Here is what I have found for helpful information.
The two books to the far left IMHO are the best the two to the right are what comes most recommended from the masses on the forum. I have one more manual on its way it is the actual GM service manual the second from the right is Allison's service manual.
