Well figured it was time to start one of these.
Ill keep updating here as i work on the rig, and decide what to do.
First, the truck. Bought her on 5/14/14 from a hillbilly in southern iowa, heres how she sat.

06 ccsb red 205,500 on the ticker. the truck was from arizona til 2 years ago so it was rust free, minus the frame. but the front bumper was all fubar'd, the exhaust hung low, plenty of rock chips, and scratches, and the interior smelled like an ashtray. I was okay with it for what i paid. 15K
drove her the 3 hours home.
gave her a quick bath.
and dug into deep cleaning this thing. vaccummed and dug about 35 lbs of iowegian mud out this thing:mad:
ran a sprinkler under her for a good 8 hours.
LOOK AT THAT EXHAUST, ugh.

then i stripped the frame, de greased it, applied 2 liberal coats of por-15, and laid some JD blitz black over it all.

much better:thumb:
debadged/demolded it. and then replaced the headlight brackets, grill, bumper brackets, bumper and caps. broken headlight support on the right and after
still need to fiddle with a few brackets, and make it line up a bit better, but good enough for the time being.
im gonna change all the fluids on this truck so i know theve been done, and when to do maintenance from here on out.
Diffs

engine, and fuel filter
\
still got trans, transfer case, coolant, and brake/PS.

two days ago i drove her 80 miles to check out some recently hail damaged vehicles, got home, went back out started her, backed down the driveway and she died. would just crank on end. so after numerous calls to ne-max ,one rebuilt filter housing, and some more help from ne-max we got her running again.
Found the kit at NAPA! Rebuilding it.

Ping pong table work bench lol.
She goes in for tint tomorow morning, and have a MA Pump rub fix kit, and two trans filters sitting on the work bench waiting for this week as well.
and have PPE Sleeves, a new billit bleeder screw(plastic ones are ridiculous lol), a shim kit(just ordered one cause i was alreadly paying shipping), and an egr blocker plate coming in this week as well. :woott:

Nice!

What did you use to degrease the frame?
Also how long did it take?

I used por15s recommended cleaner/degreaser/prep. worked really well.
But all together. 6 hours cleaning the frame of mud, 8 hours with the sprinkler and powerwasher, 5 hours with a nylon wire brush type drill attachment, and about 4 hours painting. Lots of work, but It looks great. And shouldn't rust for at least the next 10 years if not forever ha

use fishing line something heavy like 30 pound test and i allways go from the back to front front useally is full of dirt and can scratch the paint and like on your door moulding u get them started enough so u can grab ahold and pull the rest of the way as for the double sided tape buy a 3m eraser wheel works wonders
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3M-Adhesive...Motors_Automotive_Tools&vxp=mtr#ht_464wt_1161

u can use a heat gun and your fingers but u have to be really carefull the heat gur will burn your paint if your not carefull

Looks much better than before!! :thumb:

For taking off stickers and moldings I use a heat gun followed by some gugon to clean up any residue. Your fingers get pretty hot but its worked well for me.

omaha123, I have a 2006 LBZ also, take a close look at the plastic panel below the transmission cooler it needs to be secured much better than the factory. My truck was running a little warm last year and when I flipped the transmission cooler I noticed that plastic panel below the cooler was flapping around and could flip up blocking the air flow through the holes in the bumper.

Also you may want to check the lower radiator hose near the frame rail, the hose rides on the battery cable retainer and at some point the hose will fail, I merely removed the clip and rotated it 180*

I have a bunch relatives in Nebraska, my Dads two younger brothers have farms Just outside of Clarks..

Same method as dmax man 06 dedcribed, fishing line, and I didn't use the eraser wheel, I just picked at it til my fingers bled lol.
next time I would prolly invest the 20 bucks in a wheel

I was wondering where that panel went! when re did the bumper that was loose and I never really found its home when I replaced everything, I'm gonna secure that when I'm off work today.
I will check that radiator hose as well. Thanks!

Well got the transfer case dropped today.
What's the best way to clean the thing off, will I hurt the seals powerwashing it?
Just would rather not let all the grime in when I crack her open.

I just spray the seams and seal surfaces with brake parts cleaner. I then use a hand wire brush to clean the stubborn spots followed by brake parts cleaner again. I also use brake parts cleaner once separated to clean the inside up really good.

Well got the t case split. I didn't get the snap ring off all the way so it disassembled itself .. Anyhow got the ring off put everything back and found out it had a previous "pump rub fix" piece.
It looked chinsy so I put the merchant one in anyway.
Reinstalling everything tomorrow.

You need a new exhaust lol:D looks good though I need to redue my frame it's looking sad :(
I know I do. :(
I got it halfway decent with some bending and welding. but a new 4 inch kit is definetly in the plans.

and the frame work definetly made mine look nicer all around

Any of you guys know how to replace the output shift seal and bushing. Does it just pull straight out the tail of the case?
