I made 482 on a mustang dyno compared to a lot of people getting over 500 with the same tune and less supporting mods.

So Cal.
..

Sorry guys to bring up an older thread...but my buddy has a Mustang Dyno, and he hurts feelings all the time...or so I'm told.:roflmao:

This is the true. Alot of people tend to forget about that. Yes it can measure HP and TQ, but I believe it's original purpose is to tune.

Never heard of this being done, but I can see where this could be a factor. Have you seen this done on Mustang dyno's before??

Yes we do it every time (as it says in the instructions). We run a Mustang exclusively at PPE. This is done to insure accurate/consistent readings (usually within 1-2 hp of each pull)

I'm guessing he had you sync your roll speed to the dyno. If that's the case, then you numbers are probably off for that reason. The dyno shop by me recently had a dyno day, and he had issues with the roll speed. Some guys had way low numbers, like 8hp, and 12TQ...LOL, and others were up there, but still a little off. I personally think the direct connect to the OBD II is the best way to get a more accurate number. However one thing to remember, is weather plays a HUGE factor in your numbers too.

I did some research on dyno's on the interweb thing...and came up with a few good stories. Of course, the bookmarks I had are on the OLD pc I had at work...LOL I'll have to look for them again. Hot Rod Magazine did a story once on the Dyno-Jet, eye opener to say the least. I also believe it was Diesel Power who just recently just did a story on which dyno's are giving the truest numbers...

Same day same dyno same dyno operator. I never even heard of PPEI tunes before him but i wasnt real impressed, he said he like Robs tunes better for pulling and racing but PPEI was nicer on the street.

I think he was asking if your stock turbo numbers and the new ones were the same dyno.

Dan, The other day there was a new thread about someone wondering if they had enough to make 1000hp. He had an lb7 with a ppe turbo mod, hot +2 "chip", and a few other bolt ons. Not sure if he was serious but it seemed that way.
