It was a awesome christmas present. :D The bad thing is my wife gets something really nice now.:(

Yeah. I had to place the battery in the bed for now. I need to find a smaller battery for the frame rail. The amp research steps would not allow me to mount the battery in the frame rail.

I guess thats how it works, I got my soon to be wife a nice engagement ring, so maybe she is getting me a turbo now....

I have a question for you guys running twins: What are ya'll doing about high IAT's since you lose your cold air boxes? or does high IAT's even matter with twins?

What are AIT's, I assume it something like inlet air temp? If so why would you think it would be any higher with twins when without? Still have a cold air intake up front, really not much different than an after market air intake. It's not the inlet air that counts it the temp of the air coming from the innercooler to the engine that needs to be as cool as possible. Obviously the cooler the air you start with the better.

The problem I have with drawing air from the engine compartment is that it causes my elevated idle to shut off prematurely. Coolant temps below 150 and IAT below 32*f are both needed to allow the elevated idle to activate. With the factory air box drawing from the inside of the fender, I never had this issue. On a 20* morning it's kind of annoying knowing that the truck would be warmed up better if the air inlet was drawing from the fender. As far as performance goes, I'm sure it would help. I'm thinking of making a direct inlet to the turbo for track use. IIRC a member on here (RPM Motorsports) had a really nice one.

I was thinking that the air filter was drawing air from the engine compartment which would be heated much more than a single using an airbox. Is the air filter being shielded from the underhood temps an option?

A box can be made around the twin intake pretty easy with some sheet aluminum. I think Rob uses a Banks scoop, to feed his filter cold air.

We ended up building an intake scoop for Max'd Out that sticks out a bit in front of the bumper, fine for a race truck but would look goofy as hell on a DD. Did it to get away from ingesting CO2 from the innercooler fogger. I like Russ's fog light intake, not sure it's big enough for the turbos on White Out.

Is it feasable to turn the 90* filter pipe up and scoop the hood? If a person could use a scoop and driect it close to the windsheild there should be lots of cooler air. Reflections use to make a ram air hood for gassers, one might be able to modify it for this application. Be cool to have a ram air diesel.
I have a dream-a friend has a 77' Trans Am-the shaker already says 6.6-hmmm-said I could have it for around $3000. Guess I will be buying some lotto tickets:D

if you spin the intake 90 around, it should be pretty much flush with the outside of the hood (no room for the filter). You could have an intake stack, and an exhaust stack 12" away from each other:eek:...
