Older VW diesels can be pretty nasty, there is a bunch of guys who use them in lawn tractor size pulling tractors, they get them to make good power.
I bet an inline 5 would fit. If they can fit ls1in there, almost any configuration will fit.
Did the ride in the colorado on saturday get you thinkin because it can break the tires loose? Lol
The shift throws you in the seat more than anything:rofl:
when you transmission shifting gives you more g-force at WOT than the actual motor, you know you need a turbo :roflmao:
1.9 dp vw motor would be cheap parts are everywhere they are like 2 dudes can lift it light have plenty of mods avail what more could you need! If money is not an obstacle a new 2.0cr tdi would prob accelerate your samurai so hard your decals will rip off!
 Lol it definitely throws you back into the seat.. Not to mention the left tire squealer.
Consider a Chevy LS at all? that thing would haul balls!
Plus you dont wanna be like that show Samurai here that has that 350 in it :roflmao:
You could use a 200-4R transmission. They are the same length as a TH350, overdrive, and were used in several different applications for about 10 years.Did GM every make a rwd trans smaller than a 4l60e that had an overdrive and is fairly abundant?
