Alright so other things have been taking up any free time I have lately but ready to completely disassemble the motor this weekend. I have it stripped to the front and rear covers at this point. My only hold up now is that the front and rear covers are on damn good. Any tricks or things I need to know or do to get them to slide off? I have all the fasteners out and none that I can see left. I can flex it away from block but well not pull free. Am I missing something?

Alright trying to remove the oil pump And not sure if pump gear nut is standard or reverse thread. It is on wicked tight and don't want to mess it up. And scared to ruin the hex drive on the idler shaft trying to loosen it. Anybody know what way it spins off??

Had to go back and look at my build thread. 99.9999% sure it was regular thread.
Put the allen wrench into the hex. Let it come around and ride on the socket on the nut while you pull.
Dont use an outside force (like an rattlegun) to try to remove the nut. You'll snap the crank pin and have even more work to do.
Ask me how I know. :hehe:

Would anybody happen to know where to get or who makes the fancy injector return line rail to plumb the return lines out of each injector instead of using the factory hose and t fittings? I want to clean up stuff and that looks like exactly what i would need for that part.

TX of course
There’s not another option that I’ve seen. You could probably find a different Hose and fittings and make it look a little better.

Ya I can't seem to find an actual place that sells the kit I saw. It was from the Greg Hogue guy and SMT is the place that made it. Then saw a post on the Duramax Diesels Forum FB page yesterday with a lad showing his motor with the setup but now as usual, I can't find the post let alone the picture. I'll have to look some more. Thanks though!

Make your own. Take a hand full of stockers and just use the 90s. My opinion it won't look as clean as factory set up.

Actually I found a picture of one and it seems that a place called Locke Performance LLC sells them. Just waiting on a reply to find out if available to buy.

I like it.
My only concern would be the weight of it being so long and having it wear the o-ring funny and leaking. Or falling out even.

It is aluminum and clips in the same as stock t fittings. I don't think it would be an issue! But it sure would clean up stuff and no more hoses to deal with.
