I've scaled 44,900lbs with my 01 2500 on a 175mi trip running 65mph. Prolly been over 50,000lb hauling round bales on the ranch. Ran across the scale a couple days ago with the Kodiak at 47,200lbs with 24 big square bales. All these loads were on my 33' tandem dually flatbed. I just ordered a 40'er so I can haul more .

hauling hay I am usally running around 45 thousand, pulling is no problem, brakes on trailer are kept up in shape, usally run 50-55 on blacktops. truck and trailer weigh 15,500 empty, did haul a 4450 John deere with duals about 16,000 from Green iowa to Fort Worth around 900 miles, running 65-75 the whole way without any problems.

Just rememberd the trip with the 4450 , I picked up a Lull material handler for a friend on my way back, it weighed 21,000 and was a lower profile, not catching as much wind. it pulled better than the 4450. ha ha glad I did that after dark, not near as noticable ha ha

I use to pull my 5th wheel 26' camper and 24' enclosed race trailer 450 miles one way to the track usually running around 65 mph. Went across the scales fully loaded with food/water and race gear at 22,800 lbs (including truck). So somewhere around 14k pulled.

But dont you have to have DOT numbers on the pickup to haul for the farm?

Thats the million dollar question. We had that law for a short while until it was fought and npw its simply a gray area.

Where it becomes gray is when trying to determine what is for farm.

Bottom line is that we have a dot number, all of our stuff is kept up to par and when were told to put our nimber on out pickups and trailerss we will, but until then, no use making morr work for ourselves than needed. All og our semis are dot'd though

Ya he made it back, but might have cooked the unisin ring plate in his turbo, truck has 170,000+ miles on it and all its done is tow boats across the US. Never had an EGT gauge either. He made it back to LA but had to finish the trip to Sacramento with another vehicle. Looks like another project about to happen, diag begins Mon.

I hauled this from Jackson, MS to South Carolina at 70 mph this weekend. It's a 36' camper, weighs somewhere around 15k or 16k
